Has anyone been up to the Property Appraiser's web site lately?  It's been totally redesigned.  Some genius got a hold of a perfectly easy web site to navigate and now has made it ridiculous. This is bureaucracy in action. In fact, I don't even see the phone number for PAPA in order to complain about screwing up a good thing.

Don't you think they would have better ways to spend their time than sitting around and thinking up things to f*ck up? Big salaries and government pensions guaranteed.

Dorothy Jack's opponent, Shelley Vana, called us "idiots" for having the audacity to stand up for John Prince Park and object to the County approving corporate welfare and bulldozing 100 acres for the Atlanta Braves. If this penny sales tax passes (that will last ten years) at the polls in November, it is believed that the Board of County Commissioners will divert $110 million to build the stadium allowing all those who buy anything in our county to pay for it all. Such a deal--for our environment, our wildlife and all those who own this treasure, the people of Palm Beach County.

Tuesday is the election.  Please vote. There is no other choice and only one candidate who is qualified, Dorothy Jacks.

It's still fun for Democrats to bash Trump even when Palm Beach County is Trump's second home. It's fun to bash Trump and support a corrupt, crooked liar like Hillary Clinton because Democrats far outweigh Republicans in Palm Beach County (248,208 to 371,372).  Vana was seen at a Trump rally and her opponent, Dorothy Jacks, mailed out a flyer insinuating that Vana is really a Republican. Jacks' campaign made a mistake sending out a flyer of this nature in a non-partisan race.

Being that politics is what it is (slimy and dirty at times), I still encourage you to vote for Dorothy Jacks for Palm Beach County Property Appraiser.

This is a non-partisan race and Jacks has been endorsed by Nikolits after serving as his second-in-command. He says voters should choose her appraisal expertise over Vana's political experience. We agree.

Dorothy Jacks

is a Certified Florida Evaluator and an Assessment Administration Specialist with 27 years of appraisal and assessment administration experience in Palm Beach County.

As Chief Deputy Property Appraiser, Dorothy shares responsibilities with Property Appraiser Gary Nikolits, CFA, for the overall operation of the office and its staff of 250.

Often referred to as the “Mama of PAPA,” Dorothy led the design team that developed the Property Appraiser’s award-winning PAPA website and the new PAPA Mobile browser-based tool for smart phones and tablets. As Chief Deputy, Dorothy also oversees the office’s public service functions, including our five Service Centers, Exemption Services, Information Technology, Mapping and GIS sections, Public Records, PAPA and PAPA Mobile.

Dorothy was recently elected Vice President of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), a 7,000 member worldwide organization of professional assessing and appraising officials. She will serve as president in 2018.

Closer to home, Dorothy is a board member of the Economic Forum of Palm Beach County, and the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County. She is a former member of the City of West Palm Beach Zoning Board of Appeals, a past-president of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, a past-president of the Friends of the Mandel Public Library, and an active alumnus of Leadership Palm Beach County.

Ms. Jacks is running for Property Appraiser as Gary Nikolits decided not to run again.
