Netherlands plans to move their embassy to Jersulaem

Dutch government announces plan to move embassy to Jerusalem

While nation's universities boycott Israel, Geert Wilders leads pro-Israel, anti-immigration coalition

In a surprise move early Thursday, an advance draft of a coalition agreement between four right-wing Dutch political factions announced their plan to move the Dutch embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem – at "an appropriate time."

If and when this occurs, the Netherlands would be the most significant country to move its embassy to Jerusalem since the United States did so under former President Donald Trump in 2018.

Geert Wilders is the leader of the pro-Israel, anti-immigration Party for Freedom, or PVV, which won 37 out of 150 seats in the Dutch lower house in that nation’s Nov. 22 election.

In addition to the United States, Papua New Guinea, Kosovo, Honduras and Guatemala have already moved their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Indonesian Leader in Jerusalem

Indonesian leader of 60 million Muslims visits Israel despite backlash at home

Staquf says he has identified portions of Islam that he considers problematic, including how Muslims interact with non-Muslims. He says there needs to be “a new discourse” to recognize that Muslims and non-Muslims are equal and should be able to coexist peacefully.

“These elements are problematic because they are not compatible anymore with the current reality of our civilization,” he said.

Quote of the Day - Benjamin Netanyahu

President Trump, by recognizing history, you have made history.

Today, the most — the embassy of the most powerful nation on Earth, our greatest ally, the United States of America — today its embassy opened here.

We are in Jerusalem, and we are here to stay.

Last December, President Trump became the first world leader to recognize Jerusalem as our capital. And today, the United States of America is opening its embassy right here in Jerusalem.

Thank you. Thank you, President Trump for having the courage to keep your promises.

Thank you, President Trump, and thank you all, for making the alliance between America and Israel stronger than ever.

My friends, this is a great day for Israel. It’s a great day for America. It’s a great day for our fantastic partnership. But I believe it’s also a great day for peace.

The U.N. and Palestine berates the United States

U.N. to U.S.: You need to write a check for the Palestinians

Apparently U.N. officials haven't fully grasped that President Trump was serious when he cut the U.S. annual contribution to the U.N. Relief and Works Agency from $364 million to $60 million after the Palestinians demonstrated they weren't serious about negotiating.

They're lecturing the U.S. now about what the U.S. "should" do, even as Palestinian leaders threaten terror.

The funny thing is, they actually think this will work.

They must not have gotten the MAGA memo.

Islamists accuse Trump of falsifying history

"Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama acknowledged in speeches that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital but signed a waiver every six months delaying enactment of the measure, citing national security concerns.

One of the greatest accomplishments of President Trump's administration and the best these critics can come up with is that Trump is "falsifying" history.

Priceless ... coming from those whose officially stated position calls for the use of deception whenever necessary.

This may be the best pot-calling-the-kettle-black example of the week"--

Senate Resolution Adopted to move the US Embassy to Jersusalem

"The U.S. Senate, in an extremely rare moment of action without any opposition, has adopted a resolution calling on President Trump to abide by a 1995 law that calls for the U.S. Embassy to be in Jerusalem.

The vote actually was 90-0, with Sens. Michael Bennet of Colorado, Cory Booker of New Jersey, Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, Jeff Flake of Arizona, Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Jeff Merkley of Oregon, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania –– an assortment of both Republicans and Democrats –– not voting."

Trump at the Western Wall - Another Presidential First

Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem in general and the Old City specifically has been hotly contested by the international community, which prefers to settle the city’s status within the context of a final-status solution with the Palestinians.

The United States government is divided on the issue with congressional legislation, passed in 1995, mandating that the US Embassy be relocated to Jerusalem.
[Fox News]

President Trump should be consistent with his efforts to advance Israeli-Palestinian peace. In 1995, our country made a promise to begin the process of moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Embassy Act. If he had invited Netanyahu to jointly visit the Wall with him today, I would have bet that our embassy would be moved and peace never achieved causing a fire storm.

He must make this embassy move decision by June 1 or use the presidential waiver that Bush, Clinton and Obama all have used.

Both the Arabs and Israelis have claims on Palestine. Prince Abdullah talked about the fact that under his plan, Arabs would normalize relations with Israel. All Israel had to do was surrender the territory it received after the Six Day War. But Israel has an historic right to the land and there's the problem.

Israel getting prepared for Trump visit

Palestinian Day of Rage sees escalated tensions (credit: REUTERS)

"Palestinian factions in the West Bank are calling for "A Day of Rage" to coincide with US President Donald Trump's visit to Bethlehem on Tuesday, where he is expected to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas."

I can certainly understand if the U.S. delays any move of its embassy to Jerusalem. It's nuts over there. President Trump already met with President Abbas earlier in the month and Abbas stated at that time that he wants an independent Palestinian state along pre-1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital--nothing else will be acceptable.

I don't know how President Trump can resolve or negotiate this deal in this long running battle. We know Donald Trump is good, but this will take a super hero.

What will Trump do?

What will President Trump do when he visits Israel later this month? Netanyahu wants all embassies in Israel moved to Jerusalem...The waiver in our law opting out of this must be signed every six months and Trump’s visit would occur shortly before the waiver is do for signature.

"All US presidents since 1995 have availed themselves of a provision in the law allowing the president to delay the move, if he signs a waiver affirming that in his judgment the move would harm America’s national security interests." [UnitedwithIsrael.org]
