Charlie Kirk was supposed to be there — talking to students, taking their questions, building the conservative movement one campus at a time like he’d done for 13 years. Instead, Kirk was shot dead by a sniper at Utah Valley University on September 10 while doing exactly what he loved most.

Carlson arrived at IU’s auditorium around 7 p.m. with his two dogs to face a packed house of more than 3,200 students and supporters who’d been lining up since 2:20 a.m. that morning.

Carlson didn’t come to give speeches. He spent his life doing that, he told the crowd, and wanted to flip the script by taking questions from anyone brave enough to step up to the microphone.

Indianapolis police stole cash from a jewelry business

U.S. city seizes cash for no reason, now suddenly takes surprising action

A family jewelry business that lost $42,000 when police in Indianapolis simply took it and kept it is getting it back.

The Institute for Justice has confirmed the money is being returned to the small jewelry operations of Henry and Minh Cheng.

A customer earlier this year sent them $42,000 cash as payment, but it never arrived because "Indianapolis police seized their parcel and tried to take the money without alleging any specific crime," the IJ reported.

"Now, after the Chengs defended their property from civil forfeiture with the Institute for Justice (IJ), Marion County prosecutors have agreed to return their money. The Chengs' class-action countersuit, aimed at ending the unconstitutional seizures, will continue to move forward," the legal team explained.

Indianapolis has been a reliably blue city for decades. In the 2016 presidential election, the city voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton, with nearly 75% of the vote. In the 2020 election, Indianapolis also voted overwhelmingly for Joe Biden, with nearly 80% of the vote. It is the home of Indiana University.

Lawmakers have sidelined a proposal that would have allowed immigrants living in the country illegally to obtain state-issued cards giving them permission to drive.

"INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana lawmakers have sidelined a proposal that would have allowed immigrants living in the country illegally to obtain state-issued cards giving them permission to drive.

A state Senate committee had endorsed the bill in early February. But it failed to advance through another committee before a deadline this week for action.

The bill aimed to establish driver privilege cards that are already issued in several other states. The proposal would have had Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles issue the cards to immigrants who pass the state’s driving test, have paid Indiana taxes in the past year, submitted to a fingerprint background check and provide proof of auto insurance."

"I grew up in a socialistic country," Congresswoman-elect Spartz said. "In my 42 years, I grew up in socialism. I saw what happens when it runs out of money. And it's not pretty."
