Spokane Arson--The Narrative Ran Ahead of the Facts

Spokane Wildfire Arson Suspect Arrested After Previously Shooting His Father

An arson suspect has been identified and arrested in connection with the Spokane wildfires that torched hundreds of homes, according to the source report.

That is a major turn in a story that many on the left were quick to frame through the usual climate-change lens before the facts had finished putting on their shoes. Wildfires are serious, and families losing homes is not a political game.

But when an arrest enters the picture, especially in an arson case, the public deserves a clear look at what investigators are dealing with instead of another lecture from the same crowd that seems to blame every flame, flood, drought, and bad hair day on climate change.

The report says the climate-change narrative pushed by the left after the latest wildfires affecting the United States has taken a major hit following news of the arrest.

That does not erase the suffering of the people affected, and it does not answer every question about every fire. But it does show why it is wise to wait for evidence before turning a disaster into a political sermon.

If authorities are looking at arson, then the story is not just about weather patterns or broad environmental claims. It is also about human action, accountability, and whether someone deliberately helped turn a community into ash.

Three Summers Of Canadian Smoke

Trump Confronted Carney at the World Cup and Demanded Canada Pay For Poisoning American Air

Canadian wildfire smoke shut down Detroit's car plants for the third summer in a row.

Trump sat beside Carney at Sunday's World Cup final and brought the crisis up in person.

Nearly 850 wildfires were burning across Canada last week, with more than 180 raging in Ontario alone. The smoke drifted south and swallowed American cities whole. For a stretch last week, Detroit's air ranked dirtiest of any major city on the planet, with Chicago and the nation's capital not far behind.

Washington's own air quality index hit 212 – a level the government classifies as very unhealthy – while New York posted a reading of 134 the same morning. Air quality alerts hit more than 20 states, from the Upper Midwest to the Northeast.

New York City's skyline vanished behind an orange haze that turned Manhattan orange in broad daylight. Canada let its forests burn out of control again, and Washington was done pretending this was new.

Trump posted on Truth Social accusing Canada's government of refusing basic forest management, warning "this is Willful Negligence, and becoming a yearly occurrence." He said the pollution has cost America billions of dollars – and that bill belongs on Canada's tariffs, not on American taxpayers.

It's always the other guy's fault

Carney points finger at Washington as Canadian wildfires choke American cities

With 136 active wildfires burning across Ontario and toxic smoke blanketing cities from Detroit to New York, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stood before reporters Thursday and offered Americans a familiar answer: blame climate change, and blame yourselves.

Carney, speaking at a press conference in Ontario, dismissed suggestions that his government could do more to contain the fires. Instead, he pivoted to U.S. energy policy, telling reporters in French that Canada is "maintaining our efforts on the world's scale" while "the U.S. is reducing their efforts globally" on climate change.

President Trump, for his part, has been characteristically direct. The Washington Times reported that Trump threatened to raise tariff levels on Canadian goods, framing the smoke as an "invasion" and accusing Canada of ignoring "basic Forest Management and Debris Removal."

Trump announced plans to call Carney directly, posting that "the cost is incalculable." The administration's posture fits a broader pattern of holding foreign actors accountable for consequences that reach American soil, a philosophy visible in recent joint operations against transnational criminal organizations as well.

Spencer Pratt's ally in his reckless negligence lawsuit

Spencer Pratt teams up with unlikely ally to take on Karen Bass over LA fires

Former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt is taking his legal battle over deadly wildfires to a new level.

Pratt’s relentless criticism of Mayor Karen Bass and her failures during the California wildfires that destroyed countless homes, including his own, has added a surprising ally in his lawsuit against the city.

“I am proud to be teaming up with Karen Bass’ brother in suing his sister for her reckless negligence that led to the destruction of our homes,” Pratt announced in a social media post on Sunday.

Trump Executive Order Bypasses California Wildfire Permits

Trump Just Gave LA Fire Survivors The One Thing Newsom And Bass Refused To Provide For A Year

One year after wildfires destroyed nearly 40,000 acres and 13,000 homes in Los Angeles, families watched their neighborhoods turn to ash while politicians promised help.

The Federal Government cleared 2.6 million tons of debris in six months – the fastest cleanup in American history. But then California Democrats stepped in and everything stopped.

Trump signed an executive order Friday directing FEMA and the Small Business Administration to bypass California's permitting nightmare entirely. Builders can now self-certify they've met health and safety standards to a federal designee instead of waiting months for Sacramento bureaucrats to move paperwork.

The order preempts state and local permitting processes that Trump determined "unduly impeded" federal emergency relief funds, with FEMA required to publish proposed regulations within 30 days and final rules within 90 days.

The order also directs federal agencies to expedite waivers under the National Environmental Protection Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Historic Preservation Act – every green regulation Democrats use to block construction.

After 365 days, fewer than 10 homes have been completely rebuilt out of 13,000 destroyed.

"They Let Us Burn" - Palisades Fire victims protest

Palisades Residents: They Let Us Burn

Nearly 1,000 people showed up in Pacific Palisades on the fire’s one-year mark. They came to grieve. They came to complain. They came to demand answers.

The message was short and sharp. People want rebuilding. They want faster permits. They want clear action from leaders.

FOX News reports: ‘They let us burn’: Palisades Fire victims protest leadership one year after catastrophic wildfires. Organizers and residents said the response last January felt slow and unprepared. Jeremy Padawer, who helped set up the rally, put it bluntly:
“We didn’t have water, we didn’t have reservoirs, we didn’t have personnel, and there was no emergency response,” said Jeremy Padawer, organizer of the “They let us burn” rally.
People at the rally pointed to city and state leadership. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass were named specifically. Some speakers said this wasn’t about party politics. It was about basic readiness.

The Eaton and Palisades fires scorched a combined 37,728 acres — an area larger than California's Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and Universal Studios combined — destroying more than 16,200 buildings in their path.

Of those homes and businesses lost, construction has begun on fewer than 600, leaving more than 96% still untouched.

"Mel for Governor," the crowd roars!

Mel Gibson Exposes Gavin Newsom’s ‘Maui Plan’ – Californians Outraged

They should have been outraged years ago!

The disastrous handling of California’s wildfire recovery has left countless residents homeless and furious, with Hollywood legend Mel Gibson now leading the charge against Governor Gavin Newsom’s incompetence.

At a recent gathering of displaced Californians, Gibson didn’t hold back, accusing Newsom of pushing the same exploitative “Maui plan” that forced locals out of Lahaina after the fires. “Newsom wants to do the Maui plan—there aren’t any more locals living there anymore. They all had to leave town,” Gibson declared, echoing the growing suspicion that corrupt officials are using disasters to seize land and push their radical agendas.

The crowd’s response was electric, with chants of “Mel for governor!” erupting as Gibson called for federal oversight of the billions in relief funds Newsom is demanding.

“Now Gavin has asked for 40 billion of federal dollars to do whatever he has in mind. Why would we trust him with that kind of funding?” Gibson rightly questioned. “Along with that federal money should come a federal investigation.”

His words cut through the liberal media’s usual silence on Democrat failures, exposing how California’s leadership has abandoned its people while lining their own pockets.

DEI appointment disabled California's Volunteer Firefighters

How a Woke Newsom Appointee Dismantled California’s Volunteer Firefighting Force

A high-ranking military appointee of California Gov. Gavin Newsom diminished the state’s emergency response volunteer firefighting units, according to Maj. Gen. Jay Coggan, retired commanding general of the California State Guard.

California is now struggling to contain destructive wildfires, which have killed 25 people and displaced more than 80,000 in the Los Angeles area.

Newsom appointed Matthew Beevers to serve as adjutant general of the California Military Department in May 2023. Beevers has a history of marching in LGBTQ pride parades and was investigated for alleged antisemitism against a subordinate, the Washington Free Beacon reported. Beevers denied making the antisemitic comment.

Shortly after his appointment, Beevers decommissioned the Emergency Response Command, a highly trained joint command.

Beevers’ decision eliminated Team Blaze’s autonomy, and it was slashed in size and moved under National Guard unit Task Force Rattlesnake.

“The California State Guard was fully operational,” a senior enlisted leader who asked to remain anonymous told The Daily Signal. “Between the boats, the fire team [Team Blaze], [Team] Shield, we were able to work organically and move as a unit and be operational. And what Beevers did was cut out every piece of it that was operational and made it a support.”

Prior to his current role, Beevers embraced diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Smelt Fish

Infamous Delta Smelt fish not seen in nearly a decade

California allowed cities to burn over a fish they can't even find

"Liberal Democrats don't think about issues that are caused by their lunacy. That's why the fire hydrants don't have any water'

The tiny Delta Smelt fish, about 8 inches long, have not been seen in the wild in California in over a decade.

And yet, California Democrats flushed annual water flow into the ocean to save this little fish that they can't even find in its natural habitat.

Now several cities are burnt to the ground.

They sacrificed entire communities for a fish that doesn't exist."

Looters and Arsonists arrested in Fire Zones

Burglars dressed as firefighters are arrested in LA as winds push blaze towards Brentwood

Burglars dressed as firefighters are among the thieves arrested as Los Angeles' lawlessness spiraled amid the city's worst fires in history - as gusty winds are forecast to push the blaze towards Brentwood.

Looting is now running rampant as the flames continue to destroy homes across the City of Angels. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said the burglars claimed to be associated with a fire station, but a check with the department weeded them out.

At least 29 people have been arrested for looting in evacuation zones and at least two people were charged with arson and arrested on suspicion of trying to start other infernos in recent days. Meanwhile, energy company Edison International is being investigated over a possible link to one of the wildfires currently tearing through Los Angeles.

Gavin Newsom Reveals Firefighters from Mexico Coming to Assist with Eaton Fire

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) revealed that firefighters from Mexico were coming to assist with the ongoing Eaton Fire.

In a post on X, Newsom expressed gratefulness for Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s “support” as California officials “work to suppress the Los Angeles wildfires.” Newsom has received criticism from California residents who have demanded to know what he is going to do in response to the wildfires.

Newsom added that the firefighters coming from Mexico would be “joining more than 10,000 personnel already on the ground.”

As Breitbart News previously reported, Newsweek found that Newsom cut $100 million from California’s fire prevention budget in 2024, prior to the Los Angeles area being affected by the wildfires.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) also cut almost $20 million “from the city’s budget for fire services for the current fiscal year.” [Breitbart]

“All they have to do is clean their forest” – President-elect Donald Trump

Trump Calls on Gavin Newsom to Resign, Blames Him for Devastating Wildfires

California has always been a land of extremes. From gold rushes to tech booms, the Golden State swings between triumph and disaster like a pendulum on steroids.

Environmental regulations have turned America’s most beautiful state into a tinderbox. While bureaucrats obsess over endangered species and carbon credits, millions of residents live under the constant threat of nature’s fury.

For years, one voice has been sounding the alarm about this impending disaster. That voice belonged to Donald Trump, who repeatedly warned California officials about their dangerous forest management practices and misguided water policies.

California Wildfires

Los Angeles officials KNEW they were unprepared to defend city from wildfires

"L.A. Fire Chief Kristin Crowley warned Mayor Karen Bass last month the $17+ million she cut from the department's budget 'severely limited the department's capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires'.

The letter warned the budget cuts on the fire department, imposed by the city during a time period when it was fulling embracing spending plans for "diversity" and the like, have "severely limited the department's capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies including wildfires."

Multiple deaths already have been confirmed and hundreds, probably thousands, of homes and businesses have been lost to at least half a dozen fires that have raged, aggravated by high winds, over the last week.

"While our pals on the Left are screeching about climate change being at fault for the devastating fires we're all watching in California in real-time, the reality of the situation and how badly LA has and other affected areas have been managed and cared for is becoming more and more obvious."

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way. He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt, by giving it less water (it didn’t work!), but didn’t care about the people of California. Now the ultimate price is being paid.

I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA! He is the blame for this. On top of it all, no water for fire hydrants, not firefighting planes. A true disaster!

Liberalism kills! The insane immigration policies of the sanctuary state of California have turned tragic once again.

The thought has occurred to thousands that California was having an unusual amount of devastating fires and were they intentionally set?
