Comedians and activists criticise the 42 Republicans and 1 Democrat for blocking a bill to ban burn pits.

It seems that Jon Stewart, who was not a veteran, jumped to a conclusion without knowing all of the facts as the PACT Act "would enable $400 billion over the next 10 years in spending completely unrelated to veterans."

Senator Pat Toomey called the PACT Act’s promised spending of $400 billion ‘completely unrelated to veterans.’ He also called the assigned amount “a budget gimmick.”

“As written, the legislation would not just help America’s veterans as designed. It could also allow Democrats to effectively spend the same money twice and enable hundreds of billions in new, unrelated spending on the discretionary side of the federal budget,” McConnell said on Thursday.
