John Bolton's Indictment

Ty Cobb defends Bolton prosecution as legally sound

John Bolton’s indictment isn’t just a political witch hunt, despite what he claims. Former White House attorney Ty Cobb insists the case against the ex-national security adviser has a solid legal footing, rooted in serious allegations of mishandling sensitive national defense information.

The Hill reported that federal prosecutors charged Bolton with 18 counts tied to retaining and transmitting classified information after his 2019 exit from the Trump administration. The Justice Department alleges he kept sensitive materials at his home and sent over a thousand pages of “diary-like entries” to two relatives.

The Biden administration previously passed on prosecuting Bolton, likely to protect intelligence-gathering methods related to Iran, according to Cobb.

Cobb, however, sees a clear distinction between Bolton’s case and recent indictments of figures like James Comey and Letitia James. While those cases stirred their own controversies, Bolton’s involves specific allegations of mishandling sensitive documents.

The legal merits, not just Trump’s grudges, drive this prosecution, Cobb insists.

John Bolton in jeopardy

FBI uncovers 'a lot' of evidence against John Bolton as Trump critics concede investigation is serious

John Bolton could be headed to prison for endangering national security after the FBI uncovered a trove of evidence at his home.

Bolton has not been indicted, but top FBI officials say he should face charges for stealing classified information during his brief, tumultuous tenure as national security adviser during Trump's first term, the New York Post reported.

According to sources who spoke with the Post, the FBI raid of Bolton's home and office uncovered "a lot" of evidence that prosecutors could use in a case against him.

The New York Times, hardly a Trump-friendly newspaper, conceded in a new article that the FBI investigation appears to have a credible basis.

John Bolton and "The Room Where It Happened"

Trump, Bolton, and the FBI Raid Details the Media Isn’t Telling You

Hello, this is Victor Davis Hanson for The Daily Signal.

Last week, the FBI—under the aegis of the Department of Justice—raided John Bolton, the former national security adviser to President Donald Trump during his first term. And they raided his home and his house. And they took away documents, which allegedly, the target of the raid were these documents.

Bolton was not arrested. He was not indicted. There was no effort aimed at him personally. But the accusation, apparently, was that he had removed classified documents.

Almost immediately, the Left and the “Never Trump” Right, said, “See, we told you Donald Trump is on a revenge tour. First it was John Brennan, and then James Clapper, then James Comey. He’ll go after Anthony Fauci. Anybody that doesn’t have a pardon is fair game.”

But there’s more to the story than that. In 2019, when Trump fired John Bolton as national security adviser, he was writing a book. And he sold that book on the premise that he had been in the room. The title was, essentially, “This happened in the room” or “What happened in the room.” And he took prodigious notes.

The book was almost out. A federal judge, Royce Lamberth, looked at it and he thought—he basically said, “Well, I can’t really stop the book. It’s gonna be released in a few days.”

But in kind of a rare excursus, he said, “John Bolton, you’re doing something wrong. You are violating, likely, national security laws. And if you don’t stop, you’ll be subject, at some point, to criminal prosecution.” And then he let it rest.

John Bolton, the Traitor

John Bolton gut punched himself after this classified smoking gun emerged showing what he cost Donald Trump

Real Clear Investigations reporter Paul Sperry dropped a nuclear revelation that has conservatives across America demanding justice.

In 2018, then-National Security Advisor John Bolton received a classified memo that could have changed everything for Donald Trump.

The document reportedly contained explosive evidence showing how former CIA Director John Brennan manufactured fake intelligence linking Trump to Vladimir Putin.

But instead of racing to brief the President on this game-changing intelligence, Bolton made a calculated decision that borders on treason.

He locked the memo away in a National Security Council safe and never told Trump about its existence.

Trump fired him on September 9, 2018.

Iran Number One Terrorist Nation and Trump their Number One Target

President Donald Trump is reportedly at the top of Iran’s assassination list

according to the former White House national security adviser John Bolton

Bolton made this claim during his appearance on Sky News’ program “The World,” where he discussed Iran’s extensive terror network in Europe and the United States.

Bolton, who was part of Trump’s administration as National Security Adviser from 2018 to 2019, stated that several U.S. government officials have been marked for assassination by Iran. This comes as retaliation for the January 2020 death of Qasem Soleimani, a top Iranian military leader, in a U.S. drone strike near Baghdad Airport, Iraq.

“President Trump is at the top of their list of their targets,” Bolton stated in the interview. He also mentioned that he is on Iran’s hit list, but emphasized that Trump is the primary target.

Bolton claimed that Iran recruits criminal elements to execute its assassination plans, particularly “Eastern European criminal gangs and others.” This matches intelligence reports indicating Iran’s increasing reliance on criminal networks in Europe to attack perceived adversaries.

The targets of these operations now include American and European government officials involved in actions against Iranian interests, particularly those engaged in the decision to kill Soleimani.

Our Corrupt "Justice" Department

Assassin Put Up to Target John Bolton Was Actually an FBI Informant

Back in August 2022, the Justice Department revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) FBI had foiled an Iranian attempt to assassinate former national security adviser John Bolton in response to the US government’s killing of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps–Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani.

However, it turns out that the “hitman” hired to target Bolton was actually an FBI informant. This was reported on the night of November 12, 2023 by 60 Minutes, which casually reported that fact and treated the assassination plot as a legitimate action.

“Lucky for Bolton, the assassin was an FBI informant,” 60 Minutes reported, portraying the assassination plot as a credible threat.

That means maybe 150 in the hands of terrorists?

Criminal charges for John Bolton?

Justice Dept. Looks at Criminal Charges for Bolton

At the time Judge Royce Lamberth ruled that the Trump administration’s emergency request to stop the book came too late and now hundreds of thousands of copies have been distributed, NPR reported.

However, the judge did did say that Bolton, in his 10-page ruling, that the former national security advisor has gambled with the national security of the United States. He has exposed his country to harm and himself to civil (and potentially criminal) liability.

Judge's Rule on Bolton's Book

Bolton may still be facing legal trouble

says Judge Royce Lamberth of the D.C. District Court. He said that because of a rush to print, it was likely Bolton's book contains classified information.

But with hundreds of thousands of copies of the book already out for sale, according to its publisher, the judge ruled that the administration’s efforts had come too late. “The damage is done,” he wrote in a 10-page opinion.

Judge Lambert certainly wasn’t too thrilled about the situation.

“Defendant Bolton has gambled with the national security of the United States. He has exposed his country to harm and himself to civil (and potentially criminal) liability,” Lamberth concluded. “But these facts do not control the motion before the Court. The government has failed to establish that an injunction will prevent irreparable harm.” [StreadFastDaily]

Rand Paul urges President Trump to revoke John Bolton’s security clearance.

I agree. He is making a fortune screwing America!

What a sorry guy John Bolton is...no integrity if what they say is true in his soon to be published betrayal exposé. President Trump got rid of him because of his militant approach to national affairs.
