Two Lake Worth Commissioners Honored for Environmental Actions

The Monthly Changing Window at Flamingo Clay Studio

Honors Three Prominnent Ecologists

(Two of whom are City Commissioners)

J Street Junction, Lake Worth Beach, Celebrates   “Earth Month”

Lake Worth Beach is populated with neighborhoods and neighbors who care about the earth, climate change and ecology.  From solar panels, butterfly gardens, beach clean-ups and food choices, individuals in this little community work hard, doing their share to keep this planet alive.

“Think Globally, Act Locally,” has become a motto many observe, and the theme for the monthly changing window of the Flamingo Clay Studio at 15 South J Street, Lake Worth Beach.  During the first weekend of each month, artist Saya Gayoso creates a themed window reflecting the themes of the months and the seasons.  This month’s window honors Greta Thunberg (Think Globally) and two local scientists/ecologists (Act Locally) who have made their life’s work saving our enormous natural resources.

In Lake Worth Beach, two residents, city commissioners, have made saving the planet their life’s work. For this reason, it is fitting that they are honored for their decades of tireless works.

Dr. Christopher McVoy is a soil and wetland scientist who has devoted most of his career to scientific research in support of Everglades restoration.  Along with a colleague, he operates a research platform in the Everglades to better understand how the flow of water and sediments make the Everglades unique.  Dr. McVoy’s earlier research, published as a book by the University of Florida, documented the Everglades as they were originally, before we started draining them.  As Vice Mayor of Lake Worth Beach, Dr. McVoy focuses on solar power, enhancing our historic character, better conditions for bicyclists and walkers and being a voice for the under-represented.

Reinaldo Diaz
is our Lake Worth Waterkeeper.  He advocates for the Lake Worth Lagoon and its watershed, a coastal estuary running along the eastern edge of Palm Beach County in South Florida.  The watershed, which is considered the northern reach of the Everglades, extending from Lake Okeechobee to our famous beaches.  He is currently tracking and tagging the Horseshoe Crab, addressing population and breeding concerns.  He works with an ecology posse, a group of children known as the LaGoonies.  A LaGoony is a person who acknowledges their ecological role and understands that it is through learning and experience that one can envision a better tomorrow.

J Street Junction  is located in Downtown Lake Worth Beach.  It is the first block east of Dixie Highway and the first block South of Lake Avenue. A wide and quiet street, it is home base for artists and musicians with two art galleries, an artist studio, and three major music venues. Street Festivals, have  become the norm for large crowds of art, music and food lovers.

Run-Off Election tomorrow for District 4

District by District voting, voted in by bimbos, is not in effect for this Run-Off election. All I can say, is "Good luck, Lake Worth."  Down the road and at the end of this, we either will have a public beach park or we won't.

Craig Frost Speaks Out on Facebook

CraigFrost4LWB
March 16

"For the record:
Anyone who knows me and for those learning about me, you may have recognized, I’m not one to broadcast personal matters. I’m doing so now to squelch the continuous untruths being spread about me by my opponent and his team.

Reinaldo Diaz, has accused me repeatedly in postal print and on social media, of  ‘refusing to speak with or be interviewed by two newspapers.’

I never refused to be interviewed in any way. Reinaldo and I have known each other amicably for years. In fact, November 2021 (just 4 months ago), I gave him a small boat w/engine he liked and wanted. I gave it to him for free for his work with Waterkeepers.

In January, I was having medical issues and it was determined I needed surgery.

February, I underwent the surgery, (for tumors) on the dates the interview emails were sent.

My family and I were really not thinking of anything else at the time and I was in recovery. So yes, I missed the interview emails while in the hospital.

Note:
Neither paper (Sun Sentinel and the Palm Beach Post) tried calling me or left messages. They both had my number and had called me in the past for interviews.

The papers went to press before I was able to respond in kind. At the time of the Parrot Cove debate, I ended up with an infection and was back in the hospital. All candidates, including Mr. Diaz, agreed that my campaign manager would speak at that debate.

The most disrespectful thing to me about all of this is: Reinaldo Diaz knew full well that ‘I did not refuse a thing’. He knew I was in the hospital. He knew where I was throughout; I told him personally, as it happened.

I have not promoted or condoned any negativity against my opponent. I am clearing this up so hopefully this nonsense will stop. I wish he and his team would stop pushing this kind of untruth as he and I had originally agreed."

Pelican Pete on Reinaldo Diaz

When Reinaldo Diaz took the oath of office on November 22, 2021 at our city clerk's office, he produced his driver's license that showed he lived at 4035 Ruth Road, Lake Worth which runs perpendicular to Kirk Road out of the Lake Worth city limits.

Perhaps by now he has changed his address--. Here is the link to change address On his Oath of office, he gave 226 S L Street as his address but now, according to T-Reports, his address is 605 S. J Street, Apt 1B.

Quote of the Day - Reinaldo Diaz

"Daniel and I align on so many issues so I feel confident Daniel's voters will be very much aligned with voting for me," said Diaz, founder of Lake Worth Waterkeeper, a nonprofit made up of environmental advocates dedicated to the Lake Worth Lagoon and its surrounding waters.

"The trick in runoff elections, of course, is to inspire people to come out a second time and vote again."

Reinaldo Diaz

I wish Reinaldo had been specific on the alignment with Daniel Morgan on "so many issues." Daniel advocates for illgal aliens.

And it's totally disgusgting that Amendment 3 passed...Talk about brain dead people.

This district race should not be about one's heritage. We are all Americans. Focus on that and the qualifications of each.
