Judge Finds The New York Times ‘Not Liable’ in Sarah Palin Defamation Case
A jury found The New York Times not liable after the news organization was sued by by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) over an editorial it published linking her to a mass shooting in 2011.The jury’s decision Tuesday, which was unanimous, came a day after the judge in the case indicated he would dismiss the lawsuit against the newspaper, saying Palin’s attorneys produced a lack of evidence to suggest the news organization acted recklessly or knowingly published false material about her.

Defenders of Wildlife - Gray Wolves

Sarah Palin called it an "extreme fringe" group. They had taken a stand against the aerial killing of wolves in Alaska. It is a non-profit group that was listed as one of the best wildlife charities in the United States by Reader's Digest. The Defenders of Wildlife sent me the following:
One of the worst pieces of anti-wildlife legislation in decades could head to the White House for signature unless we can stop it in the Senate.
S. 659, also known as the "Bipartisan Sportsmen's Act of 2016," is making steady progress in the Senate. The House of Representatives has already passed a terrible version of this bill, loaded with destructive provisions that threaten wildlife and their habitats.
If this legislation becomes law, wolves, bears and other iconic wildlife you love will die.
Urgent: Tell your senators to oppose S. 659 with its harmful provisions!
This bill would:

9/11 - No Place for Publisher's Politics

Raising the flag at Ground Zero.
At the above site, there is a photo that was taken on 9-11-01 by Thomas E. Franklin of The Record (Bergen County, NJ). The picture shows three New York City firefighters raising the American flag at Ground Zero of the World Trade Center following the September 11 attacks. The official names for the photograph used by The Record are Firefighters Raising Flag and Firemen Raising the Flag at Ground Zero. The photo appeared on The Record front page on September 12, 2001.
The paper also put it on the Associated Press wire and it appeared on the covers of many newspapers around the world. It has often been compared to the photograph taken by Joe Rosenthal during World War II. Blogs and newspapers have used it repeatedly over the past 12 years.
Although this photo has been used across the globe, its publishers are now suing Sarah Palin for using it in commemoration of the 9/11 bombing of the World Trade Center by Muslim terrorists who waged war on the United States.

Bill Maher, the "comedian?"

Bill Maher is a punk. He's a wise guy. He's an anomaly. He says stuff to make big bucks and idiots laugh...an ultra-liberal obnoxious know-it-all. He supports the legalization of marijuana and same-sex marriage, and serves on the board of PETA. He is also a critic of religion. He's basically a New Yorker but now lives in California, which explains Bill Maher.
The following excerpts of an e-mail were received by the campaign for Allen West.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Bill Maher has made racist and sexist remarks. He has a history of offensive, misogynistic attacks on women as well.
In one 11-day period in 2011, Maher repeatedly assaulted Sarah Palin, calling her a “bimbo” and hurling two sexist epithets during his stand-up “comedy routine.”
He has repeatedly leveled insults at Bristol Palin as well, saying just this past May that Bristol would “name her next kid Colt 45 after what she’s drinking when she gets pregnant.”
And in April,Maher attacked Ann Romney saying she has “never gotten her ass out of the house to work.”

We need better choices for President of the United States than Harvard/Yale graduates

"I am of the opinion that any graduate of Harvard or Yale should automatically be ineligible to hold public office. Hopefully in the future we will put a person like Sarah Palin or Allen West in the oval office…people who are not alumni of (or welcome in) the hallowed halls of Harvard and Yale…people who put our country first and foremost. For now, we must defeat Obama or the greatest country in the history of the world will be transformed into a second tier nation, at best."

Tar Sands Action

I really believe in being energy independent. Who wants the Mid-East controlling prices on virtually everything that we buy? It is an area with constant unrest, uprisings and rebellion, literally an "oilquake" waiting to happen. We must have affordable petroleum. Like an addict, however, we must reduce our reliance on oil and break our $500 billion-a-year addiction and have other affordable choices for fuel.
It has been said that there is enough oil in the Gulf of Mexico to sustain the US for the next 50 years at current usage levels. The trouble is that the oil is in VERY DEEP water. This is a political nightmare after the BP disaster. Sarah Palin wants to "drill baby drill." However, when I see a video like this, it is shocking. Greed supersedes all else and it rules all over the world.
We need to stop raiding our treasury for other people's wars and other countries problems and invest in our own country's future. Reduce the national debt and stop running our country on credit. Give businesses huge tax breaks to invest in this country and limit any outsourcing of jobs and manufacturing plants. Stop allowing our enemies to get the upper hand. End this imbalance of trade and turn it in the other direction. We are building up the economies of the world to the detriment of ours. Unions, get smart. (I always like to throw that one in there for Mary Lindsey):)

Clinical Thought Disorder and Crazy Religious Nut Cases

As Charles Krauthammer would say, " This is clinical thought disorder - ideas disconnected from each other, incoherent, delusional, detached from reality. These are all the hallmarks of a paranoid schizophrenic. And a dangerous one."
He was speaking about the reasons why Jarred Loughner did what he did and some people blaming the Republicans, Sarah Palin, the Tea Party and those against Obama for the recent massacre in Tucson.
Now we have the The Westboro Babtist Church whose members want to picket the funeral of 9 year old Christina Taylor Green. The reason? They say, "God sent the shooter to deal with idolatrous America."
The State of Arizona under Jan Brewer has shown good judgment once again. The first time with Arizona 1070 to protect its State from invaders and this time by passing a law yesterday to prohibit protests at or near funeral sites one hour before and after a funeral.
Everytime I think there is something to this "going to church" stuff, I have to read about religious nut cases. I get a flash back to Jim Jones. It turns me flat off to formal religion once again. Each to his own. I would rather see society dealing with one single, individual, crazy nut than any wacky religious congregation.

Soon we will all have to face end-of-life.
The government is now getting more involved and will actually pay doctors to advise patients on their options--costly procedures or pull the plug. Medicare coverage will now have new regulations regarding end-of-life planning starting on Jan. 1.
Are Death Panels, a name coined by Sarah Palin, coming back for consideration? As we all have faith in our doctors to advise us correctly, opponents have said that such a policy could encourage doctors to advise patients to end their lives prematurely. What was once a two-way split in philosophy, now has been compromised by government intervention--the Feds paying doctors to advise and influence the patient. There is a conflict of interest here as the government's goal is to reduce the cost of medical, not save lives.
As Sarah Palin said back in 2009: “The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s ‘death panel’ so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,’ whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.”

The Traitorous Eight
Criminal Act Rally and Power of the IllegalTake the Post today on its editorial by VerSteeg, "Republicans who dare to dream" where he reports that 8 Republicans voted FOR the House Dream Act. He failed to mention that 38 Democrats voted AGAINST the Dream Act. He did say that three of them who voted for the Dream are from Florida and are Cuban-Americans. Because they have "favored status" does not forgive them for their vote. Because they are immigrants, they clearly have lined themselves with all immigrants, illegal or not.
Lincoln Diaz-Balart represents District 21 (Broward/Miami Dade--small portion of northern Miami along with several of Miami's northeastern suburbs). He stepped down from running again and Mario, his brother has been elected to replace him in Dist 21.
Mario Diaz-Balart, brother of Lincoln represents District 25 (Miami/Dade, Monroe & Collier) His Aunt was the first wife of Fidel Castro. Since he has been a Congressman, he has missed 50% of the votes and has voted with the Republican Party 89.7% of the time. He now will be the new Congressman for District 21.
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen represents District 18 (Miami/Dade & Monroe)
Anh Cao (LA – 2) A Republican who really is a Democrat.
Michael Castle (DE – 1) Ran for Republican Senate primary and was defeated by Christine O'Donnell
Charles Djou (HI – 1) Just lost the general election in Hawaii
Vernon Ehlers (MI – 3) Last hurrah--he did not run for another term that ends January 3, 2011.
Bob Inglis (SC – 4) A strong believer in global warming science; he was just defeated by an endorsed T-Party candidate and staunch conservative, Trey Gowdy. He blamed Sarah Palin for destroying the credibility of the GOP.
It is sad that people who broke our laws by crossing our borders came here with or had children. This does not excuse the criminal act and the American citizen should not be paying for services for illegals or justifying their actions. Elected officials such as the above (many lame-ducks) have a lot of nerve speaking for the American citizen who, by every poll imaginable, is against illegal immigration but have empathy for these "children."
Hopefully, this will fail in the Senate and the government will come up with some sort of Immigration Reform that makes sense. The generosity of the American people can only go so far and should be relegated to Americans, not illegals.
