Gun Rights in U.S. Post Offices

Judge rules post office gun ban unconstitutional

A federal judge in Florida declared on Friday that a U.S. law barring people from possessing firearms in post offices is unconstitutional, citing a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling from 2022 that expanded gun rights.

U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, appointed by former Republican President Donald Trump, reached this conclusion while dismissing a portion of an indictment that charged a postal worker with unlawfully possessing a firearm in a federal facility, as Newsmax reported.

At the center of this controversy was Emmanuel Ayala, a postal worker accused of possessing a firearm within a federal facility.

Judge Mizelle, presiding over the case in Tampa, dismissed the possession charge against Ayala.

She articulated that such a blanket prohibition on guns in post offices contradicts the Second Amendment's guarantee of the right to keep and bear arms.

Postmaster General debunks Democrats' Conspiracy Theory

Postmaster General Destroys Liberals’ Latest Conspiracy Theory in Under 30 Seconds

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy shredded the far-left’s latest narrative regarding the US Post Office Monday; shattering the liberal conspiracy theory that President Trump is disrupting the mail to steal the 2020 election.

“As part of this conversation, there are many inaccuracies I’d like to correct. I did not direct the removal of blue collection boxes or the removal of mail processing equipment. I did not direct a cut-back on hours. I did not direct the elimination or any cut-back in overtime,” said Louis DeJoy. “I did however suspend these practices to remove any misconceptions about our commitment to delivering the nation’s election mail,” he added. U.S. postal stamp up to 45 cents

I remember the 3 cent stamp and the penny postcard. It doesn't seem that long ago but it was back in 1932 when the 3 cent stamp for first-class 1 oz mail was sold. It had been virtually unchanged up until 1958 and the cost has been steadily increasing ever since.

More and more of us are doing our banking on-line. It is estimated that over 63 million of us use on-line banking and automatic bill paying.

On Sunday, the U.S. Postal Service increased the price. This rate increase means a billion dollars a year to the postal service but it has been reported that they lost $5 billion last year. It'll cost a penny more — a 45-cent stamp — to mail a letter starting Jan. 22, and mailing a postcard will go up three cents, to 32 cents. As more and more of us go digital, the 45 cent stamp won't be around for long.
