Chinese Gangs' Cannabis growers in U.S. competing with Mexican Cartels

Chinese criminal gangs are establishing thousands of illegal cannabis farms across the United States, posing a significant challenge to Mexican cartels in the race for dominance in America’s marijuana market.

Law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma, Oregon, California, New Mexico, and Maine are grappling with a surge in these Chinese-operated cannabis farms. Some of these operations are believed to be linked to notorious criminal organizations known as ‘triads’.

The proliferation of these illicit activities seems unstoppable. Just last week, police in Penobscot County, Maine arrested three Chinese nationals at a cannabis farm and confiscated 40 pounds of the drug along with $4,700 in cash.
