Judge Engoron Rules Trump Must Inform Court-Appointed Monitor About Effort to Secure Bonds In NY To File Appeal

On Thursday, New York Judge Arthur Engoron decreed that Trump must notify a court-appointed monitor beforehand regarding his attempts to obtain appeal bonds in Letitia James’ fraud case, which has been likened to Soviet-style tactics despite the absence of a victim.

The appointed monitor, Barbara Jones, is a former federal judge chosen by Bill Clinton.

In October, Engoron prohibited Trump and his family members from transferring assets or establishing new entities without informing Barbara Jones. Engoron’s order mandates that the Trump Organization inform its financial overseer, Barbara Jones, in advance of any future attempts to secure surety bonds. Why?

Trump’s lawyers claim that Barbara Jones has received a substantial payment of $2.6 million to identify seven immaterial disclosure items, three irrelevant inconsistencies, and five clerical errors since being appointed as an ‘independent monitor’ in the NYC civil fraud case.
