Message from Cpt. Baer

Good Morning,

Sadly, PBSO lost its first employee to Covid 19. Sgt. Jose Diaz- Ayala  passed away this past weekend. In Lake Worth Beach,  we have been fortunate thus far with our personnel.  We currently have one deputy out waiting for test results. Three others have been tested previously and all came back negative for Covid 19.

The next two weeks are supposed to be tough both locally and across the United States. Dr. Birx from the Coronavirus Task Force has recommended we avoid grocery stores and pharmacy’s this week and next. If you must go out, it is now recommended by many medical professionals to wear a mask or scarf.

For the most part, our residents are adhering to the stay at home order and social distancing recommendations. Our criminal element was quiet at first but has returned to committing crimes. Please watch out for auto burglaries and street robberies, both of which are happening at night.

The CRA is hosting another food giveaway at the Hatch Center (1121 Lake Avenue ) tomorrow morning from 9 am until the food runs out (flyer below) . Please check their website for details and requirements. You must register with them before tomorrow. Another requirement is you must drive up. Walk ups are not permitted for safety reasons.

211 is available for anyone who needs help with this crisis. They have counseling and can direct you to other services available.

Be safe and be positive, this will pass!
