The dynamic Lake Worth High School Alumni Foundation had its bi-annual breakfast this morning at Atlantis Country Club. The class of 1953 had the most attendees (former Lake Worth Mayor Dennis Dorsey's class). Phil Calgano, the outgoing president, gave a plea to recruit younger members to carry on the torch. That torch has been "hot" having raised over $775,000 since 1999 with fundraisers throughout the year.
The last fundraising event, the Spaghetti Dinner held on August 25th, raised $8,000. The next event is the 12th Annual Golf tournament at Atlantis Country Club on November 16. To register or receive more information please call Vicki Rauthbord at 561-642-6888. There is a $5,000 maximum prize for the Golf ball drop from the helicopter. You need not be present to win that.
