L-Sol Rises, Shines is the title of an article in the Palm Beach Post on the illegal alien hiring hall in Jupiter, Florida. It is the only one of these centers left in Palm Beach County. Hooray for small things.
What it has accomplished in this past year:
4,757 registered employers
2,241 registered workers
4,115 jobs filled as of June 30
4,461 free lunches
534 people given free food from Food Pantry
97 people completing English lessons
54 people completing computer classes
Jupiter has more money than does Lake Worth and less sense. Jupiter gave El Sol a building right next to their City Hall, buying the building for nearly $2 million. They rent it to El Sol for $1 a year and Jupiter pays for the electricity.
In Lake Worth, we gave The Mentoring Center a building for $1 a year and those who used it totally trashed it within one year of the 3 year occupancy. This was to get the illegals off the streets. They are still on our streets and it looks like a Third World as you drive down Lake. And nothing gets me going more than someone living here as an immigrant who doesn't want to learn our language. One thing that we should be grateful for is that we don't live in Miami. I get so sick of hearing what a wonderful diverse city this is and "that's why I chose to live here." Goody for you. That is not why I moved here.
Our Shuffleboard Court building (and they can change the name of it to anything they want, it is still the Shuffleboard Court Building) ended up costing poor taxpayers a bundle. Maybe Jupiter has a better class of illegal alien there. Now the City of Lake Worth wants to jackhammer out the shuffleboards courts because they were so severely damaged and put in a park that we know is for the immigrants who still hang out in the inner city. The real reason is that the City does not want to spend the money refurbishing the courts for the old people. The demolition of the courts, for the moment is on hold.
Not one politician will ever admit that illegals commit crimes. They have also driven down our property values. Perhaps a lot are moving to Jupiter after trashing our city. Their culture is different and we are told that we must fit into theirs. When I take a visitor down Lake and they witness the action, they can't believe their eyes. It's sort of like, "Am I in America?"
Are city governments in business to give to illegals who cross our borders the free lunch at the expense of U.S. citizens and push out senior citizens from the shuffleboard courts? How did this happen? The City Manager convinced the commission to kick out The Mentoring Center but she also has convinced them to kick out the Seniors one more time and end our history. I'm not sure which is worse.

You forgot to mention the immigrant gangs another big problem here.
Why is it that elected officials can get away with ignoring the laws of our country? Illegal immigrants deserve no jobs, no benefits and no hiring centers. The Obama administration is guilty of the same with the President's steadfast support for amnesties and tax payer benefits to illegals. Too bad the national media refuses to ask President Obama why he ignores the jobs that would be available if those millions of illegals holding jobs were winnowed out by E-Verify and aggressive law enforcement.
Keep up the firing line; it is all we can do until the U.S. masses rise up in objection to our coddling of illegal aliens.
Joe, I drove over to your house this morning to take a pic but did not readily see the damage to your fence by the illegal. Sorry I missed it.
Personally, I have never understood why LW refuses to use the immigrant population to their advantage, while providing a hand up to those same people. Four or five years ago Mary Lindsey put forth a realistic proposal to use those immigrants with 'green cards only' for a city wide clean up, especially of the alleyways and vacant lots. The proposal would have required an RFP for an outside contractor, but would have been enormously beneficial to the city.
The rationale behind this proposal was that since the immigrant population lived in the city, and normally did not venture outside of the city, then every penny that they made would be spent with city merchants, and therefore would be a direct benefit to the city coffers. It was also noted that because the alleyways hindered storm restoration and the conversion process that there would be a double benefit of both decreasing the cost of any storm restoration and in decreasing the cost of the electrical conversion. This proposal was a win-win for the city, the merchants, and the immigrants, but it either fell on deaf ears, or no one within the city wanted to write the RFP to get the ball rolling with an outside contractor. This is too bad as a good cleanup could help property values immensely.
better than using them for slave labor, just follow the laws of our country.
1.) The United States currently issues one million green cards per year. Is that too many? #REAGANDEBATE
2.) 7 million illegal aliens currently hold a job with millions of Americans out of work. Would you support nationwide E-Verify? #REAGANDEBATE
3.) Do you think we should staple a green card to EVERY college degree earned by foreign students? #REAGANDEBATE
4.) The US will add 130 million people by 2050 under current immigration policies. Should the fed gov't force that much growth? #REAGANDEBATE
5.) Some local policies encourage ill. immigration. Would you enforce current law preventing sanctuary cities and instate tuition? #REAGANDEBATE

Lynn, Sorry, the damage was to the back of the property at 204 North D Street., the entire back of their fence was destroyed and a corner of mine, mostly theirs. Check it out, the neighbors took pictures of the van their too, so maybe they can share those, it was a drunk Mexican guy who left the scene of the accident, but we think he lives in the same 200 block ally way on E street in one of those rentals. The police didn't do much. Check it out. The only reason why we thought he fled the scene of the crime last night was due to maybe him being illegal? Who knows? It was a lot of damage and a pain for all of us last night. More needs to be done to stop illegal immigration and human trafficking.
