A Note from Mayoral Candidate, Dustin Zacks

Comment Up
Hello Lynn-

Thanks so much for your phone call today, your interest in my campaign, and your highlighting my quote of the day a few weeks ago.

Aside from your question of the day asking "where in the world" I am, I have absolutely no idea where anyone would get the idea that I am not still in the race for mayor, as your voicemail queried - certainly not from myself or from anyone associated in any way with my campaign.

I am running an old-fashioned grassroots campaign, and everyone associated with the effort is working hard every day to get the word out. One point of note - I see your blog has posted the website for Mayor Waterman and for Pam, I sure would love to see my website listed as well, as your blog is certainly a major reference point for those who are interested in city happenings: http://www.dustinzacksformayor.com/

Please do not hesitate to contact me further with any other questions about the campaign.

Thanks,

Dustin A. Zacks

1) Dustin needs an email address rather than a phone number.

2) If Dustin is truly interested in the "behind the scenes" activity and mismanagement of city government, then he should contact you, or Coakley, or Blackman, or Lindsey. His education will be greatly enhanced if he would avail himself of those sources of information.

I guess the question was a good one, where is Dustin Zacks, because no one has seen or heard from him.

Anonymous said...

In the last year how many times has he attended a commission meeting? How many times has he spoke during public comment? Dustin needs to get involved and than run for something.

Well the same thing can be asked of Triolo who has only shown up for meetings since she announced. It can also be asked of Waterman who never came to a Commission meeting and who never spoke in front of the body but got elected anyway.

So, if he wants to run, he will be among candidates who were not engaged either. Zacks got a taste of politics when he got rejected for the CRB. He would have been great on that Board. All it takes is one little thing like that to get motivated to make a difference.

I personally look forward to what Mr. Zacks is going to bring to the table. I'm even more thrilled to see several new candidates in the race for this November Elections.

As many of us are just plain old sick of the current disregard for the way our thoughts, beliefs and even well thought out input to help the city elected to make better decisions.

But do not be fooled....This is going to be a come out swinging campaign and we can only hope that the right person gets elected for Mayor and the other seat that is up for grabs. Which ever candidate you are supporting is not as important as getting to the polls and encouraging others to get to the polls.

Lake Worth needs to re-organize itself and current leadership has only one course of action (thanks Scott for not voting for certain things and standing up for the people)grab each and everyone of use by the Purse or Pocket and yank as hard as they can to deal with their bad decisions.

Looking forward to what ever debates are coming up and hearing statements from the new candidates as we know by actions what the ones already in office are about.

Dear Dustin: Your campaign is going to accomplish the exact opposite of what you are hoping to achieve. Not 1 single Rachel supporter will vote for anyone but Rachel. That group is 100% unified. The only result of your campaign will be splitting the vote between you and the other candidate. If you both run, neither of you have a chance. Your only chance of helping change the commission dynamic is to drop out, and I can tell by your rhetoric that your ego won't allow you to do that. Maybe talk to Tom Ramiccio and hopefully he can tell you that sometimes staying out of a race accomplishes your goal better than jumping in. Tom is almost single handedly responsible for Rachel's victory. If he dropped out, like everyone told him to do, Lisa would have certainly won. Do the right thing Dusty. Do it for LW Dusty.

It's nice to still believe in a loser but you are in some sort of fantasy world here. Lisa Maxwell was less liked than Ramiccio. Lisa had already lost one election but still believed she could win in the next one. Now who's the one with the "ego?"

anon at 9:51 am, seems a little overconfident. Also too afraid to attach their name. Personally I think there will be a major change on the Dias in November. The Citizens who own property in this town want some representation!

Lisa knew nothing about the Budget and her advisers knew less than she, some of whom are known to be first-class ego maniac know-it-alls. Just the facts, M'am. If she had anything substantial to offer at all, she would have been in the run-off. She lost. End of story. The best woman won.

From Anon at 9:51am to S. Williams... I am a citizen who owns property in this town and I do want representation and do not feel I have gotten that from the current commission. Hopefully the response to my post does mean that some former Rachael supports will choose another candidate this time - although I've been here long enough to know that not too many will. Or maybe you all want Dusty to stay in the race for the same reason I suggest he should drop out - because you know he will split the vote thereby giving Rachael another victory. Anyhow, no disrespect meant to anyone, just my humble opinion.

Wow, here we go already people. One there are many people that voted for Waterman that do want to know what the other two candidates have to say and what they stand for.....There are many that voted for her that are not 100% supporters plain and simple.

And for Anon 9:51 to come on and say what you did and try and discourage Mr. Zacks before the man has even presented himself to the public sounds like you are a staunch supporter of Waterman or Triolo and your post was a simple tactic to sway Mr. Zacks.

Let the people have a chance to hear all sides including Watermans...you should meet your opponents face to face before making such rash conclusions.

Waterman, Triolo and Zacks, Many of us look forward to hearing from all of you!

Your humble opinion is correct. That's how clowns keep getting elected. The cabal has 1600 votes etched in stone no matter what loser they parade around.

I agree, we want representation for once in this city. Our current elected officials are awful about responding to us, listening, caring, or getting back to us. I wrote an e-mail to the mayor and all four commissioners two weeks ago about concerns I have with sidewalks downtown, and the only one who wrote back to me was the mayor, Waterman. All four commissioners never wrote back, I am still waiting. I will not vote for people who will not respond or listen to me, or even have the courtesy to respond to your e-mail. Golden has been quilty of this several times, and she will not get a vote from me this time around. I am tired of our elected officials not listening or respecting the public or responding to our concerns. I am tired of the mediocrity from all of them, I vote, I pay taxes, and we all deserve to be heard and respected in this city. I want a little respect and representation for once. Their lack of responses will determine how I vote.

Hi,Katie Mcgiveron here. I don't know what Mr Zacks views are on important issues facing us here in Lake Worth. I went to Pam's campaign party to meet her and hear what she is about. Pam introduced herself, but I still don't know where she stands on the issues. I voted for Rachel Waterman in the last campaign and advised her NOT to vote for these stupid, needless assesments. Rachel igonred my advice and voted for every tax that came before her.I guess that Rachel does not care about my opinion or my vote.Oh well. I'm just one stupid peon.I will have to see what each candidate has to say on the issues before I decide who to vote for.

I will meet all the candidates, and choose the one I think will best support Lake Worth. We all know that Lake Worth is a town of intelligent individuals. By nature they are not sheep, and do not blindly follow. Let us make our own decisions. I applaud anyone who can make people sit up and notice what's going on, and hope they all vote and vote thoughtfully, no matter who they vote for.

Unfortunately, elections are sometimes personality contests. Please be sure, whoever you "like" knows his/her stuff. I am not yet convinced that they do and can't wait for the debates. Poltiicians taxing its citizenry in this fashion can't have a barometer on what's really going on in their city.

Zacks, where are you?

Seeking info from people who have only been underhanded, hatefull and divisive, is suicidal.
Except Mr. Coakley, who taught us few, about our Utility functions and costs. Laurence McNamara and I have for 10 years attended every City Hall meeting , to the regret of those who mismanaged our City. The wealth of truthfull, neutral in depth, information about our City'sneeds, we have is unmatched. How we got where we are,$4,500,000 deficit and out of Contro Utility Dept.) as a result.
We gave the city a Charter Amendment which secured all public parks, land and properties from corrupt sale as has been attempte. We secured the two year terms for our offices, good enough for Congress and the Senate.
Laurence proposed bottling of Lake Worth excess water to sell, which could bring $4,000,000- to $7,000,000,- revenue to the General Fund.
Ignorance of how to manufacture different kinds of water, without spending money, makes the present U.F.O. in our Mayoral seat, state:
We don't have any money! Is this a brilliant or ignorant remark, with which it sank the multi million dollar revenue source the City already owns and paid for!!!!!Why is it even sitting there,if not for underhanded actions of a few devious, anarchists?.A simple phone call can make it happen. That U.F.O is not allowed to get info. usefull to the City, from a source of knowledge and truth. The sneaks control her. The uselss quality of that creature shows blatantly.
Dustin thinks he knows everything that we need, to recover from our economic abuse by City hall??Pam where are you? No one needs to know who you are, like the present U.F.O.!!!!!
I don't think and hope Dustin is not that primitive an ego!
