The Palm Beach Post - More Sleaze

Let's face it folks--the Palm Beach Post is part of the SLEAZE factor. The PBPost should and must be fair and balanced and give all viable candidates the opportunity for interviews and express their opinions on the issues especially if they (the PBPost editorial board) are going to be in the "endorsement" business. This is what keeps democracy honest.

The purpose of a free press is fundamental to the concept of a government "of the people, by the people and for the people." But the Post had already made up its mind.  The Post endorsed all candidates FOR the PB County sales tax increase which amounts to 17%. I would like to know why they are endorsing anyone? Give the candidate views and let the people decide.

Today I read Rick Christie's editorial and his endorsements for the election on November 8. The very last sentence regarding the Board of County Commission race District 3 and speaking about Dave Kerner, he says: His opponent, no-party candidate Sean Hogan, did not meet with The Post Editorial board. This statement implied that Hogan didn't bother showing up to the Editorial Board interview. By omission, it was a dishonest and sleazy statement. I just got off the phone with Mr. Christie who told me that his board did not have the time to meet with NPA's this year, that they were too busy. When I complained about this race only having two candidates and refusing an interview with one and that it was outrageous, he quickly said, "thanks." He could have cared less.

As everyone knows, Dave Kerner, who I personally like, has raised a lot of money and has been endorsed by every special interest group going as well as Shelley Vana, one of the commissioners who has never seen a development project she hasn't liked. Sean Hogan, on the other hand, has been shut out by the Press, Lake Worth's Commissioner Andy Amoroso's public endorsement of Kerner and even The League of Women voters that did not publish his information.

I would just like everyone to have a fair shot.

Following is the Sean Hogan Campaign's response to this situation:

Palm Beach Post Candidate Interview
All of the PBC Ballot Candidates were asked to participate in a Palm Beach Post Candidate Interview, except Sean Hogan, District 3 County Commissioner Candidate running on a NPA ticket.

When Hogan was talking to County Commissioner Candidate for District 5, Taniel Shant, after their Sun Sentinel Interview, Shant mentioned to Sean about the Palm Beach Post Interview. Hogan knew nothing about Candidate Interviews with the Palm Beach Post. Subsequently, Sean called Rick Christie, the Editor of the Palm Beach Post who conducted the Candidate Interviews to schedule his interview.

Christie indicated that it IS the Palm Beach Post Policy NOT to interview NPA (no Party Affiliation) Candidates or Write In Candidates. Although Christie said he was sorry, he also said this is our Position, and they have no time for an interview with Hogan.

Sean reached out to US Senate Candidate Bruce Nathan, also NPA, who had an interview with the Palm Beach Post, proving the Palm Beach Post Policy is subjective.

Hogan believes the Palm Beach Post not only lied to him about their Policy to not interview NPA and Write In Candidates, but because of their endorsement of Dave Kerner for District 3 County Commissioner, the Palm Beach Post has interfered with Hogan's opportunity to passionately share his platform and is unfairly influencing his District 3 Voters in Kerner's favor since there are only 2 Candidates. A Candidate Interview  is a distinctly  personal format far more effective than  a Voter Guide Questionnaire that limits the responses to pre-determined questions.

Several of Hogan's constituents contacted Hogan today with great displeasure of his "no show" for the Palm Beach Post Candidate Interview, which was reported in today's paper. Further proof of the Palm Beach Post shaping and influencing the Voter response at the polls on election day for the District 3 County Commissioner race.

Rick Christie just got caught with his pants down. And it's not a pretty sight. The Palm Beach Post has no business endorsing candidates. Just give us the facts and positions of EVERY candidate running . We the people will then decide who to vote for.

It's no wonder the Post is losing subscribers. Dickheads.

Is that what the editor said? Unreal. It was very discourteous to say the least.

Trump is so right about the media!

A point of interest is that Dave Kerner is against the Atlanta Braves coming into John Prince Park per his Sun Sentinel interview. This should impress Andy Amoroso and the rest of the trio.

The PB Post is not a respectable news paper anyway. They pit people against each other and sensationalize issues making the good citizen look bad over sleazy politicians. I do not like them, trust them, nor will ever pay to buy their paper or ever submit an editorial to them again in my life they are the worst.

With media today, we have no democracy in this country anymore. We have 6 people running for president, but only two get any attention or media coverage, it is so unfair, if you are not a republican or democrat. No other country would do this like we do now and our media and our government is to blame. We need campaign finance reform and change how we go about electing folks. I blame the media and our government, big business drives both of them and all of this injustice. We do not have a democracy anymore here, it is a democrazy with media, big business, and our government to blame for this.

We are damned until our politicians change this, but they won't. Time to start thinking about what other country you want to retire to.

Down with the Post, they stink, I agree with you Lynn!

A perfect example of what is going on in this world and our media and government do not even air it or say anything about the truth, look at:

A CONSPIRACY theorist has been found dead in Poland – just days after he texted his mum instructing her to “investigate” should anything happen to him.

Max Spiers, a 39-year-old father-of-two, was found dead on a sofa in Poland, where he had gone to give a talk about conspiracy theories and UFOs.

The media is so bad here, so corrupt and right in their with our corrupt government that does not let us know the truth. How can you respect media? Don't watch TV, don't believe all you hear, they are brainwashing us, so be careful.

Don't let the media brainwash you. You cannot believe anything you hear or know from our past and history, so much may not even be true. Did we really land on the moon ever? If so why don't we go back? What is really true about anything our government and media report? Don't trust them and believe all you hear on TV. A friend of mine says it is better to look at Youtube and see the real news with live reports of what happened all over, the news slants all and often does not tell the truth about much. Research the truth for yourself. Wake up America!

My sister calls the Post a fish wrapper. I am voting for Sean Hogan.

I really can't believe I have to send Comcast a check every month, to have my television periodically commandeered by this pitiful election and have to look at this ugly old grandmother hawking her wares. She makes Baba Yaga look good. In case you don't know who that is, she's the Russian witch from the fairy tale who lived in the house that stands on chicken legs.

8:22 P.M. Your sister is right about the fish wrapper. If you think we didn't have enough foreclosures in Palm Beach County over the last 8 years, by all means, vote for a Mortgage Broker. Working hand in hand with FNMA and FHLMC, they did their best to destroy the housing market. To that end, it has never sufficiently recovered, and as long as lenders see flipping and high LTV's as an acceptable risk, it never will. It's just a high stakes poker game.
