Afternoon at the Lake Worth Beach

We had such a big storm that came through hours earlier, I expected the surf to be rough.

It was just another gorgeous moment at our beach.

I love our beach, go there every single day!

I just wish that people would read and heed the rules and not bring their dogs on the beach/sand. Last week I saw a huge pile of dog poop right on the beach, people do not care they bring there dogs, let them go untethered, and do not even pick up their shit. This is so wrong! Where are the police and park rangers?

Two days ago I saw three young people drinking beer at 9am on our beach, happily drinking coronas openly on the beach, no one enforces anything. You are not supposed to have glass or alcohol on the beach, but people do every day. Where are the police to enforce this?

Lastly, I hate smokers on our beach. You go there to enjoy, not to have to inhale cigarettes and cigars from others, they really need to outlaw them, plus do you know cigarettes are the biggest form of litter? Cigarette butts all over, smokers do not care.

I have concluded, smokers, dog owners, and drinkers do not care, if they did, they would not do what they do. Hurting themselves, others, and our beautiful environment. I do not care for any of them.

Amen. You have to wonder if the city has told code to lay-off the beach. After all, there are a lot of tourists there and they bring money to our casino merchants. We are supposed to have two deputies there now. Can you alert them when you see someone breaking a rule? Although I was there and haven't seen PBSO at all.

All legitimate issues. Unfortunately, none of these things are enforceable. You surely don't want the police wasting their time on these infractions. The only way to really solve any of these problems is to hire more people to clean up after the pigs. There was a time when the homeless themselves would do these kinds of jobs for a few bucks. As far as the tourists go, some of them are the worst offenders. I'm sure you've seen that!

If we have Ordinances and they are NOT enforceable, what good are they? Let everyone run wild and do whatever the hell they want? Is that the answer?
NO.
You enforce the laws and make this crap stop.

This is our beach, our most important and valuable asset. I want the police to do their job...none of it is a waste of time.

Crime in our city starts with the little things that grow like a bad weed until it is out of control like now. You nip it in the bud at the beginning, not ignore the problems.

That's great, but it doesn't happen! It's not going to happen. Who is supposed to enforce this? The police are going to arrest dog walkers? I'll bet there isn't a mechanism to levy a fine. To answer your own question: They are not enforceable.
