ROLOH Report to Lake Worth City Commission

Good Evening, I’m Robert Waples, the President of Residents of Lake Osborne Heights (aka ROLOH).

Mayor, Commissioners thank you for allowing us this time.

ROLOH is a quiet neighborhood on the "true" Western Boarder of Lake Worth…a community just West of I-95 and surrounded on three sides by the tranquil and picturesque Lake Osborne.

We are for the most part a laid back neighborhood built in the 1950’s through the 1970’s consisting of SINGLE FAMILY HOMES. We pride ourselves in our diversity, family atmosphere and caring for each other as neighbors. We continue to grow strong bonds with our neighbors through field trips, gatherings/Picnics and of course neighborhood meetings which are 6 times per year, typically the second Tuesday every other month starting in January each year.

We are proud to announce we have finalized a grant, to obtain our neighborhood banners and will be working very closely with Mr. Brown in order to get them produced and in location.

As for further updates we would like to give recognition instead. We would like to welcome our new City Manager Mr. Michael Bornstein and wish you the best of luck in your new position and to also congratulate Mr. Jamie Brown on your new appointment and promotion. We also would like to thank all the many hard working staff members of the city…the men and women who make the wheels of this city turn on a daily basis including nights and weekends.

A Special thanks to the Men and Women who serve on PBSO District 14.This unit of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has proven over and over again, their dedication and service to our membership, our neighborhood and our city. An example of the dedication and work and accomplishments of PBSO in ROLOH…would be the break in at our board secretary, Ms. Jenny Weed’s Home. Upon leaving to go to a Yoga class Ms. Weed’s home was broken into and within a short period of time the suspects went through every room and every drawer… Breaking a window for access…leaving her home a mess. Among things stolen were items near and dear to her which was jewelry that belonged to her mother who is no longer with us as of last year.

The Deputies that came to the call were professional and kind; the follow up was great and PBSO D14 Team went the extra mile. Thanks to a picture provided by a dear friend who’s family had similar items, the detectives found the jewelry at a local pawn shop (we thank the pawn shop owner for following the rules and providing assistance to this case) they were able to identify the person who pawned the jewelry. The suspects were tracked down and the items were recovered; the criminals were tied to several other crimes in the greater Lake Worth area. Arrested and prosecuted.

The members and friends of ROLOH would like to take this opportunity to show our heartfelt thanks to these great men and women that have been there for us on a continued basis. We offer this small token of our gratitude and thanks to Capt. Silva and the whole PBSO District 14 team for their caring, dedication and hard work.
