Final applicants for Lake Worth's Planning & Zoning Board

Comment Up

I am interested in all the volunteer boards within Lake Worth but mainly the following three Boards : CRA, Historic Preservation and the Planning & Zoning board because these boards have the influence to change Lake Worth.

As this new commission is making a big move to change the face of our city by eliminating the present Planning & Zoning Board and pack it with their "friends," the following people have submitted applications to the P&Z. The application process is now closed. Those indicated below said that the P&Z was their 2nd choice for a board appointment. Only four people applied to the 7 member Historic Preservation Board: Wes Blackman, Clara Kim Hanson, Judy Just and Herman Robinson.

After being treated abominably by our present commission and being kicked to the curb, only two previous members of the Planning & Zoning Board have re-applied.

13 Applicants to P&Z:

Wes Blackman (2nd choice)
Mark Humm (2nd choice)
Judith Just (2nd choice)
Frank Palen
Mark Parilla
Greg Rice
John Rinaldi
Herman Robinson (2nd choice)
Kate Sheffield - reapplied
Dean Sherwin
Laura Starr (2nd choice)
Robert Waples - reapplied
Dustin Zacks (This will be his reward for Waterman Zack attacks)

So, if you eliminate all those who marked the Planning & Zoning as their 2nd choice, that leaves all of the above less one.

This will be the volunteer leadership of our city.

Lynn, if you are interested in these 3 boards, why is your name not on any of them??

Is your name on any of them? Come forward and reveal yourself.

I am not filled with ego to assume that I am even remotely qualified to be on any of these boards. I am doing exactly what I want to do at this stage in my life. There is no time for that side of politics. Thanks for asking. :) :(

I spend enough time writing a blog that might just hit home to some.

Ick. Good bye Lake Worth. Looks like Palen has slithered back out of his hole. I smell a conflict of interest.

Thank God for the blogs, since so many of our elected officials won't be bothered with us or return our calls and e-mails, Thanks Lynn! This may explain now why people on this list are trying to get on these boards, slum property owners for one, they can't even keep their own property up, yet want to be on the P&Z board, go figure, tell me they do not have a motive? Would love to know how many of these folks gave money to a campaign or elected official? Maybe some of the ones that will decide if they are on the board? I am so tired of the corruption and these folks who think they can do anything and do not have to keep up their property, they are above the law, what a sin! Assume responsibility for your own property first before trying to control everyone elses.

LOL,LOL,LOL, and you say you have No ego... Yes I keep forgetting about your height hate, and let us save the Shuffle Board Courts. And lastly how we all did Stanton wrong, except you of course..

Lynn Anderson said...

I let that last post go because it just shows how silly some people are here.

What I do is opinion. Opinion doesn't hurt a flea. Members of zoning boards and the CRA can do a lot of damage. I do advocate for candidates and issues.

You did do Stanton wrong. I'm not the only person in this city that says so. Why not crawl out of your little hole in the wall and understand that many people do not agree with you nor do they agree with the sleazy tactics of the present elected body that did what they did to Stanton and to the volunteers on P&Z and other decisions.

Hang on to your hat Mildred, the big blow is coming.

Wasn't it Mark Parrilla who insisted that no one who had ever been arrested could be on a board?

OK, everyone who has ever been arrested raise your hand.

to anon at 136 I would much rather have a Lawyer, than someone who does not shower, and feeds her Garden at her illegal rooming house with human waste.

Do you mean Cara J. and Peter?

Anonymous said...

Why don't you consider Golden/Jennings/Mulvehill appointing all their friends and political supporters to the board that was just disbanded political payback?

Frank Palen was Chair of the P&Z before Blackman. He tried every way possible to circumvent the height restrictions at the Gulfstream Hotel by going higher than 100 feet. It was even on the ballot back then to vote on until Peter Timm discovered the corruption of making that entire block over 100 feet. Romano pulled it off the ballot. After he was off P&Z, he was also the attorney for the owner Schlesinger of the Gulfstream and got waiver after waiver for his client at the detriment of Lake Worth thru Blackman and the boys. He is part of the good ole boy network of the corrupt past in this city. Say no to Mr. Palen.

Lynn Anderson said...

They appointed Wes Blackman didn't they?
The people they appointed to the P&Z are not corrupt and were not on this Board for any self interest other than serving the public.

Let's make a policy-no lawyers. That would be a very good start. Let's not appoint anyone who has been involved with investors or developers and have made a living off of them in any way.

But just think if we had all these Lawyers on boards, we could save MILLIONS on outside legal costs

Nothing will satify those who want endless affordable housing in Lake Worth except a P&Z Board filled with CJennings/PTsolkas supporters. If the previous P&Z members were so upstanding, why didn't one of all of them admonish one of their own for ignoring the codes of Lake Worth?

The previous Commission made numerous political appointments to the volunteer boards. Listen to the audios and hear the truth for yourself.

Lynn Anderson said...

Everyone, with one-half a brain, will admit that we have plenty of affordable housing, other than the CRA that is.

Board appointments are political...no doubt about it. However you made a big statement about a member ignoring codes? Do you wish to elaborate?

Remember, one member is one vote. Jennings was definitely a political appointment, however, she knows as much, if not more, than most people regarding our Comp Plan and zoning.

The Board is not there to "admonish" another member. It is there to vote and make the best decisions for LW.

The Commission does not have to fill all the openings on every volunteer board during their interviews in June. As shown by the previous Commission, applicants can be rejected even if that leaves a board with less than a full slate. The previous solution was to reopen the application process and reinterview applicants. Interviews were held on June 16, 2011 and august 11, 2011.

How can you say that when she personally tried to get rid of code inforcement? Screaming when they sited someone that saw a problem from the front steps of a next door neighbors house?

Enough Already said...

If we have enough affortable housing in Lake Worth, than why was one commissioner so concerned about another affortable housing complex on 10th Avenue?

Lynn Anderson said...

Is everyone still paranoid about Cara? LOL

Anonymous said...

No matter which group has the majority on the Commission it's always the same back and forth.
There are 2 factions in this town. One was just voted out and now they are screaming. It was the same before, just in the reverse.
The real problem is that because both sides go to such extremes it's impossible to ever meet in the middle.
Which is what should happen and sadly, won't.

Amen, they need to not let someone like Rice either then who can't even clean up his own blighted dilapidated building and lot. He is another that is likely involved with investors and developers. His greed and lack of assuming responsibility for his property is not impressive at all. Sorry if the truth hurts amigo.

If you live in a historical neighborhood you can thank Frank Palen. He wrote the whole Historical Ordinance. At no cost to the City or the taxpayers.

Thank You Frank Palen !

Lynn Anderson said...

Mr. Palen did do that.

Not sure about the same two factions back and forth comment. I believe that one side in this city is more in the middle and the developer side is exactly the same as it was years ago. They want it and they are going after it. Lake Worth is prime for development.

Oh really, from A Street to Dixie from 6th south to 10th North is just as historical and is not included in the Historical Ordinance, why is this? Because they let it become a ghetto or the hood?

Over the years they have allowed them to tear down so many old beautiful historic buildings in these areas, it is a sin!

Why didn't they protect all historic areas, this is just as old or older than College Park and is so run down and uncared for and not protected, it should also be protected.

Why is this area also neglected and left out? Then we want to know why it has so much blight and crime? Where are codes in this area compared to Parrot Cove?

Remember Vinny the Dozer on a prior P&Z board? He bulldozed down an historic house and paid the $38,000 fine. He could have cared less. That's what we will be getting now that the present board has been kicked off. Honesty and hard work doesn't always pay when you're dealing with corrupt politicians. It took a long time to get honest selfless people and two minutes to tear it all down. Thanks Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso.

To the person who just attempted to post for the 2nd time here on Lynda Mahoney--I am not familiar with the circumstances of your charge. Therefore, it did not get posted. If you can support that attack, then I can post it. This is not a political attack site for you. In fact, use your name if you want any credibility here.

As far as Devito is concerned, I was aware of his bulldozing down an historic building and paying the fine. that got posted.

Anonymous said...

Why would i use my name for creditability on a blog that has zero creditability? It's Lake Worth's comic strip.
Of course you were aware of Devito it fits your narrative.
Mahoney knocking down a building was common knowledge. You know about everything else in town how could you not know about that? Just ask her at the next P&Z meeting you attend. She'll confirm it for you then you can blog about it.

Lynn Anderson said...

The word is CREDIBILITY. Keep that library so that you can learn to spell. It is the quality of being believable or worthy of trust. Why do you post here at all? Is accessing a blog an assignment for your 1st grade computer class?

Lynda Mahoney is out of town with no computer access. She is off the P&Z and will not be at the next meeting.

Actually it sounds like it is YOU who knows everything going on in town.

Rinaldi was such a biased moderator for the Candidate Debates at the Playhouse that the League of Woman Voters refuse to host another one.
How could this applicant be a team player on the dias?
He is also one of many applicants to the P&Z Board who contributed to the commission and mayor election fund.

Another applicant who likes to throw stones needs to keep them in his pocket.
Searching the county court docket shows his upcoming DUI court case and bank judgement. Busy guy!

alright now. I thought you didn't post slanderous personal attacks. Isn't that what you always **itch about?

No name was mentioned. Posts and commentary are okay regarding public figures--if true.
