Man overdoses on Lake Osborne Drive
Last evening, Lake Osborne Drive was saturated with firetrucks/paramedics and PBSO all trying to revive a 45 year old man who had overdosed. According to his stepfather, he has been struggling with addiction all his life.
Drug addiction is a complex disease. Quitting usually takes more than good intentions or a strong will. Drugs change the brain in ways that make quitting almost impossible. We have so many people, not only in Lake Worth, but across the country who are addicted to drugs.
He was talking to his girlfriend on the phone when he overdosed. She knew where he was, called 911 and drove immediately to the scene. Paramedics arrived within minutes. Thank God he pulled his car to the side of the road. He lives somewhere near Bryant Park.
There were dozens of professionals there to save his life.
