Ten years ago, Mark Parrilla and his partner installed solar at their house on South A Street. They believed that it would be paying for itself in just a few years. The solar installation was $55,074 not including the rebate from the State for $20,000 and the 30% tax credit they received from the federal government on the original cost.
The Electric Utility Advisory Board could not meet recently as there was no quorum. Peggy Fisher, a prominent member of this Board, resigned last month.because of lack of support by Staff and their decisions bypassing the Board.

For the price of solar you can replace your air conditioning, install new impact windows and doors, switch to natural gas and add insulation. You also may have install a new roof before installing the panels which will have to be replaced in 20-25 years or getting them damaged from windstorms.
You would have to install a new roof in 20 to 25 years anyway, and as far as natural gas, I haven't seen a new house with natural gas for many years. All the kitchens are electric. I miss natural gas, but whenever I hear of a gas explosion, I am thankful I have electric. I just find it difficult to cook with.
@9:39 some of us "idiots" like getting the left news point of view especially those of us who want to be in the know as far as extreme liberalism and hate of our president.
I think most people dropped the paper because of the 1) cost and 2) the biased reporting and editorial opinions. Sometimes they get it right and this article was not biased. People can discern the difference. Can't you?
