Lake Worth Potholes

Comment Up

If you attend city commission meetings, you have heard Barbara Aubel speak of potholes but particularly those on 2nd Avenue South.

"Neighbors hope city leaders do something about them sooner rather than later. They're all over our area this time of year, but on 2nd Avenue South in Lake Worth, they are severe."

Read the article from WFLX.

If you recall during the election, all the opponents and none of the incumbents spoke of fixing the roads and concentrating money into the neighborhoods even bringing up the possibility of another general obligation bond. The last one that was defeated by 25 votes, not 24 as the city manager continues to say, was for too much and too long with little accountability. Perhaps the city, after engaging the public, will come up with something better that all of us can rally behind.

The opponents wanted to fix the potholes. The incumbents are only interested in the Park of Commerce and the damned Atlanta Braves baseball team coming to John Prince Park. The incumbents are also not interested in decreasing crime or getting rid of the blight in Lake Worth. Listen up citizens of Lake Worth you will not be heard and you concerns do not matter to Pam Triolo, Scott Maxwell or Andy Amoroso. We told you this would happen but you chose to believe the liars and re-elected them.

There was no plan B to fix our roads. Hell ,there was never even a plan A! Only 30% of this cash grab MIGHT have gone to fix streets. There was no guarantee of even ONE DOLLAR going to fix our roads. What it was was a way to pay off FEMA, put in water and sewer for Kintz and Lang over at the Sunset property and give an 800,000 blank check to each Pam Triolo,Scott Maxwell and Andy Amoroso! We'll never know who else's pockets our tax money would have disappeared into .

I personally worked with Nick. A Great person and worker. There is much more that goes on being an employee working there. If you work with William Waters, which Nick does and I did. If you express fairness or growth you will be shot down. You get no recognition for anything. If you ask William about issues and why he treats you in a negative way, stand back for retaliation. He does it to his staff and it is a place that you walk on egg shells everyday when he shows up. He treats people as though they are dumb and don't rate his time nor help, unless you are an architect major.

Michael Blevins please read on I have to break this post up in to multiple posts.

I worked with William for over four years. We as staff members according the the city's paper work, that if we obtain a certificate in our job we are aloud to get a 5% increase in pay. I had to file a grievance against William Waters with the union to get this heard. William decided to change the ways of the law and said he refuses to give me an increase because he didn't pay for it. I said when I talked to you eairlier you said you didn't budget any school or training in your budget. I paid for the program myself $1500. Not only me but others in our department had to file grievances against William Waters for the 5%. One person left the city because of that very reason. William mentioned to one employee that if they didn't pass the test, he would make sure she got fired when she got back. Heard that with my own ears. Nick paid for his code enforcement certification which William is suppose to cover. Nick had to file a grievance which took over a year to get paid back.

Retaliation is very much alive being an employee at the City of Lake Worth. I have encountered numerous people setup and wrote up for frivolous reason to get rid of them and ruin their career. Why does this happen? Because the directors are aloud to do what they want and especially William Waters and the HR Director and The City Manager. I have been put in the middle of William Waters and the City Manager doing maps for them. City Manager wants it one way and William doesn't like it saying "City Manger is dumb and doesn't know what he wants or doing". I have been told that so many times by William Waters. Yet, we write a grievance and what happens when the issues are top management. You get fired PERIOD. I have personally watched 17 people in my four years working for William Waters leave the department. Some where done so wrong and setup and wrote up for things that William actually failed to do. William is also on the board with the HR Director fighting the union with the pay raise and retirement package Nick is talking about.

He is a big contender in shooting this down and only a 2% raise if they agree to signing the 5, 5, 5 contract. Directors can and do go against the contracts that are signed by the employee.

To prove that point. William Waters and Mark the old HR director removed me from exempt status and placed me in non-exempt status. They did that because I had to get on FMLA to take care of my mother. William and Karen Vaughn wrote me up because I used my sick and vacation time to take my mother to appointments and had to stay home with her. So, after fighting this with the union and the new HR Director coming on board, I spoke with her Germain. She spoke to me for 20 seconds and knew I was done wrong and immediately changed my status. I fought this a year and a half because of William. This is what people are dealt with at the City of Lake Worth. William had to walk past my office everyday he came to work which was never at 8am. He came to work between 9-9:30 everyday except two days in the 4 years I worked there. If we showed up late he would threatens to write you up. He would walk past you in the halls and not even speak to you. They will write you up for anything and add stuff that is not true. I did not sign the write up because it was all false. William Waters response in an email was I was guilty no matter what.

My name is Michael Blevins and I will sign any petition against this corrupt group Lake Worth has. Nobody really knows what goes on. If they talk they lose their job.
