South J Street to get Homeless shelter

Comment Up

A homeless shelter for women is coming to Lake Worth.  It will be on South J Street right down from the Propaganda Nightclub and the second one by The Lord's Place. But one good thing, it will also be close to the Common Ground Church whose pastor, Mike Olive, mentors and cares for the Homeless.

We will have new neighbors whose average lengths of stay are expected to be 9-12 months. However, the amount of time a person is able to remain in the program will vary, depending on individual progress and need, says Burckle Place.

Ground breaking is on Wednesday at 4pm.

I talked to a homeless woman downtown the other day who said Pastor Mike Olive is helping her. She's very thankful to him.

It's really a shame that you did not read this blog very carefully. Mike Olive does a heck of a lot for the poor and Homeless.

The ONLY person full of BS is you. I would doubt that you even go to church.

We forget the incumbents have never been homeless. They don't want to help the homeless because they are ALL DRUG ADDICTS. Maybe some day God will show them what it is like to lose your job, lose your home, and can't afford to feed your children. Do you people ever really speak to the homeless. Many of them are veterans who served this country and what did we do for them when they returned. One that I know of was promised his job when he returned from serving his country only to find out when he got back that the company decided it was cheaper to operate overseas, thus his promised job was gone. Some have mental health issues but we don't help the mentally ill either. Open your eyes bigots

The homeless I see are wearing a path in the center of 6th avenue near i95 diligently panhandling 24-7 - couldn't they turn that tenacity into a job? The homeless I see are turning tricks on Dixie and Federal looking for their next fix because they got hooked on pain pills from mommies boob job in New Jersey. The homeless I "see" break into my home and car to steal my things and sense of security.
My grandfather was "sold" to a farm to work on during the depression because his parents couldn't afford to feed him- do you think from that experience that he ever allowed himself to be homeless? A thief? A drug addict? At least Paris Hilton has money so no one has to cover her for acting like a spoiled brat. Spare the rod - spoil the child.
