The Folly of investing in a Spring Training Facility

Comment Up

Please note that Spring Training Facilities give a return of 11 cents on the dollar. So for every one dollar you spend, you get back eleven cents. Why don't our elected officials care about this? Are they totally that reckless with other people's money?

"From the Office of Economic and Demographic research which is a research arm of the Legislature principally concerned with forecasting economic and social trends that affect policy making, revenues, and appropriations.

EDR provides objective information to committee staffs and members of the legislature in support of the policy making process. EDR publishes all of the official economic, demographic, revenue, and agency workload forecasts that are developed by Consensus Estimating Conferences and makes them available to the Legislature, state agencies, universities, research organizations, and the general public. EDR, through a contract with the University of Florida, arranges for annual estimates of population of each city and county in Florida, which provide the basis for revenue sharing programs."

Watch Collier County LIVE at 10am this morning. They are wooing the Atlanta Braves that has interest.

Sadly, I don't think they care about factual statistics. They drank Maxwell's Koolaid. I know the money picture in Lake Worth: income triple your salary to join the moving forward club and paytoplay. Don't know that much about the county--are they the same? Shelly Vana is my rep and I thought she was OK, but now she seems just about money for her.(e.g. Ag Reserve)

Another lose you ass deal. We sure would be raking in all these dollars that the county and the City of Lake Worth Claim we will be. NOT! Take your debt elsewhere Atlanta Braves.

Lynn, I think all of the nasty comments are coming from people who don't know jack shit and are believing the lies that they are told. They don't like the fact that you are exposing them. Too bad. Keep up the good work.

Lynn, I think that "anonymous" comment at 10 am is you talking to yourself again. What nasty comments are they referring to?
Maxwell kicked your asses in the last election and he's going to kick your asses about the Braves in JPP.

@10:16...I don't go around talking to myself. I realize that there are a LOT OF CRAZIES in this city but I am not one of them.

Maxwell, thanks to money, lies, special interests and the primary election, turned out to be that perfect storm for his train wreck.

Perhaps he will be "kicking our asses" again but I will continue to write about the idiotic things and decisions that he and they make.

Thanks for your normal charming self.

To: 10:16 AM with regards to 10 am's statement:
Nope, Lynn did not write that. I would have signed my name but it's people like you that give me reason not too. Why didn't you sign YOUR name? And if your comment isn't nasty I don't know what is.

they should not be giving our tax money to people who are already wealthy ...plus give them park land...it is hard to believe...what is going on...I do not think we in lake worth have any say...government is not for the people it is for the rich

If the County has $150 million in our money to give to a richie rich ball club owner why are they debating raising the sales tax to pay for road improvements? Just use that $150 million of our money that you want to give to the Braves.

If Tralala, Imaloser and Maxwealth really cared about Lake Worth they would put the stadium in Bryant Park. New Hotel, golf, beach and baseball. Our merchants would be rolling in dough! A home run for everybody ! Plus I live west of I-95. I don't give a crap what happens to the people living east of Dixie and I don't want to pay taxes to take care of a dirty run down place like Bryant Park. It is filled with homeless people and used drug needles are everywhere.I'm too scared to even go there !The Braves stadium would fix the Bryant Park area up.The house prices in the area would go up to!
