Donald Trump raised a grand total of $100 million for his inauguration, which is about as much as Barack Obama raised in 2009 and 2013 combined. The funds are a combination of private and corporate donors, via the Independent Journal Review.

[UPDATE] CREW SUES TRUMP OVER EMOLUMENTS

Washington, DC—When the courts opened at 9 am this morning, a legal dream team officially filed Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington v. Donald J. Trump to stop the President from violating the Constitution by illegally receiving payments from foreign governments.

The foreign emoluments clause of the Constitution prohibits Trump from receiving anything of value from foreign governments, including foreign government-owned businesses, without the approval of Congress.
CREW is represented in the case by an all-star team of top constitutional scholars, ethics experts and litigators who have combined to argue 45 cases before the Supreme Court. The lawyers on the case include CREW’s board chair and vice-chair Norman Eisen and Richard Painter, the top ethics lawyers for the last two presidents, Constitutional law scholars Erwin Chemerinsky, Laurence H. Tribe and Zephyr Teachout, and Deepak Gupta of Gupta Wessler PLLC.

Tribe, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor and Professor of Constitutional Law at Harvard Law School, said: “I am enormously proud to be filing this lawsuit to stop President Trump from putting his continuing pursuit of personal wealth, and his willingness to serve the foreign interests that feed that wealth, ahead of the interests and needs of American citizens and watchdog organizations like CREW. It is already clear that nothing short of judicial force will end Trump’s flagrant disregard of the core barrier the Constitution’s Framers erected against presidential decisions driven by personal greed or by loyalty purchased from the President by the patronage of foreign powers.”

Eisen added: “President Trump is the first president in decades not to release his tax returns. Seventy five percent of Americans want to see the President’s tax returns and so do we. We will seek those in discovery in this case in order to establish the details of the emoluments clause violations here.”

Teachout, Associate Law Professor at Fordham Law School, said: “The framers of our constitution did everything they could to protect against corruption, especially foreign corruption. President Trump’s insistence on taking payments from foreign governments is a blatant violation of a foundational clause in our constitution, and a foundational principle of our country.”

Chemerinsky, Dean, University of California, Irvine School of Law, noted: “The Constitution is explicit that the President cannot profit from a foreign government without congressional approval and there is no doubt that President Trump has been violating the Constitution since he took the oath of office.  This lawsuit simply asks the federal court to enforce the Constitution and reaffirm that no person, not even the President, is above the law.”

Gupta, Supreme Court and appellate advocate at Gupta Wessler PLLC, added: “The Framers had incredible foresight, and they wanted to make sure that our elected leaders wouldn’t be corrupted by foreign governments. This lawsuit isn’t about some technicality; it’s about making sure that the President serves the American people, and nobody else.”

Noah Bookbinder, CREW Executive Director and a former federal corruption prosecutor, said: “We always encourage officials to do the right thing. We did not want to get to this point. It was our hope that President Trump would take the necessary steps to avoid violating the Constitution before he took office. He did not. His constitutional violations are immediate and serious, so we were forced to take legal action.”

It's hard to believe that this sort of thing happens in America. Where did all these unpatriotic, unthinking Americans come from? It has all intensified over the last eight years and the protesters as well as the women who marched on Washington have promised that their BS will continue.

With all the crazy nonsense happening on American campuses, would you believe you can't ask your fellow students, "Do you like freedom and liberty?" Throw in a free copy of the U.S. Constitution and you get arrested. But don't be shocked -- it happens more often than you'd think.

Personally, I believe that city managers should stay out of politics and cease being so unprofessional with the citizens of this city no matter their behavior. It wasn't funny, but it was and could be again, a serious issue that could affect the surrounding neighborhoods around John Prince Park in a negative way.

Another thing--city managers should stop giving their biased viewpoints from the dais unless asked to do so.

Women’s rights.. it’s laughable. Sheep herding around cities not doing a damn thing about actual women’s rights.

I am not a “disgrace to women” because I don’t support the women’s march. I do not feel I am a “second class citizen” because I am a woman. I do not feel my voice is “not heard” because I am a woman. I do not feel I am not provided opportunities in this life or in America because I am a woman. I do not feel that I “don’t have control of my body or choices” because I am a woman. I do not feel like I am ” not respected or undermined” because I am a woman. I am not a “victim” because you say I am.
I AM a woman.
I can make my own choices.
I can speak and be heard.
I can VOTE.
I can work if I want.
I can stay home if I want.
I control my body.
I can defend myself.
I can defend my family.
There is nothing stopping me to do anything in this world but MYSELF.
I do not blame my circumstances or problems on anything other than my own choices or even that sometimes in life, we don’t always get what we want. I take responsibility for myself.
I am a mother, a daughter, a wife, a sister, a friend. I am not held back in life but only by the walls I choose to not go over which is a personal choice.
Quit blaming.
Take responsibility.
If you want to speak, do so. But do not expect for me, a woman, to take you seriously wearing a pink va-jay-jay hat on your head and screaming profanities and bashing men.
If you have beliefs, and speak to me in a kind matter, I will listen. But do not expect for me to change my beliefs to suit yours. Respect goes both ways.
If you want to impress me, especially in regards to women, then speak on the real injustices and tragedies that affect women in foreign countries that do not that the opportunity or means to have their voices heard.
Saudi Arabia, women can’t drive, no rights and must always be covered.
China and India, infantcide of baby girls.
Afghanistan, unequal education rights.
Democratic Republic of Congo, where rapes are brutal and women are left to die, or HIV infected and left to care for children alone.
Mali, where women can not escape the torture of genital mutilation.
Pakistan, in tribal areas where women are gang raped to pay for men’s crime.
Guatemala, the impoverished female underclass of Guatemala faces domestic violence, rape and the second-highest rate of HIV/AIDS after sub-Saharan Africa. An epidemic of gruesome unsolved murders has left hundreds of women dead, some of their bodies left with hate messages. Or the 7 year old girls being sold or married off to 60 year old men, Or the millions of women sold and bought into sex trafficking.
And that’s just a few examples.

So when women get together in AMERICA and whine they don’t have equal rights and march in their clean clothes, after eating a hearty breakfast, and it’s like a vacation away that they have paid for to get there…

(Infowars) – Images taken during the violent unrest in Washington DC this week show an anti-Trump Antifa protester displaying a photo of an ISIS flag and an ISIS beheading video on his phone to intimidate Trump supporters.

The individual who took the photos of the protester sent them to Infowars. He said he was inside the Proper 21 sports bar in northwest Washington on Thursday night when the protester approached the glass window.

Nasty Michelle

The world never really got to know Michelle Obama or the Obama girls. I never thought she was a friendly or likeable first lady. Child obesity was her cause. From time to time there were photo ops of her exercise classes for little kids. It was the moms she should have been preaching to. Also it is said that she supported veterans and bolstered the place of women and girls in foreign countries. I never saw any of this. Perhaps she lost sight of American women with close to 50 million of them in poverty. Her "nasties" showed up in Washington D.C. yesterday, over 500,000 of them it is said.  The only thing we know is that the world is more violent today and certainly a whole lot nastier.

A short while ago on Meet The Press, I heard Senator Lindsey Graham saying, "I don't know what 'America First' means." Well, here you go, Senator...all you had to do was read President's Trump's page. Everyone needs to calm down and that includes angry RINO's.

America First Foreign Policy

The Trump Administration is committed to a foreign policy focused on American interests and American national security.

Peace through strength will be at the center of that foreign policy. This principle will make possible a stable, more peaceful world with less conflict and more common ground.

Defeating ISIS and other radical Islamic terror groups will be our highest priority. To defeat and destroy these groups, we will pursue aggressive joint and coalition military operations when necessary. In addition, the Trump Administration will work with international partners to cut off funding for terrorist groups, to expand intelligence sharing, and to engage in cyberwarfare to disrupt and disable propaganda and recruiting.

Next, we will rebuild the American military. Our Navy has shrunk from more than 500 ships in 1991 to 275 in 2016. Our Air Force is roughly one third smaller than in 1991. President Trump is committed to reversing this trend, because he knows that our military dominance must be unquestioned.

Finally, in pursuing a foreign policy based on American interests, we will embrace diplomacy. The world must know that we do not go abroad in search of enemies, that we are always happy when old enemies become friends, and when old friends become allies.

The world will be more peaceful and more prosperous with a stronger and more respected America.

Trade Deals Working For All Americans

For too long, Americans have been forced to accept trade deals that put the interests of insiders and the Washington elite over the hard-working men and women of this country. As a result, blue-collar towns and cities have watched their factories close and good-paying jobs move overseas, while Americans face a mounting trade deficit and a devastated manufacturing base.

With a lifetime of negotiating experience, the President understands how critical it is to put American workers and businesses first when it comes to trade. With tough and fair agreements, international trade can be used to grow our economy, return millions of jobs to America’s shores, and revitalize our nation’s suffering communities.

This strategy starts by withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership and making certain that any new trade deals are in the interests of American workers. President Trump is committed to renegotiating NAFTA. If our partners refuse a renegotiation that gives American workers a fair deal, then the President will give notice of the United States’ intent to withdraw from NAFTA.

In addition to rejecting and reworking failed trade deals, the United States will crack down on those nations that violate trade agreements and harm American workers in the process. The President will direct the Commerce Secretary to identify all trade violations and to use every tool at the federal government’s disposal to end these abuses.

To carry out his strategy, the President is appointing the toughest and smartest to his trade team, ensuring that Americans have the best negotiators possible. For too long, trade deals have been negotiated by, and for, members of the Washington establishment. President Trump will ensure that on his watch, trade policies will be implemented by and for the people, and will put America first.

By fighting for fair but tough trade deals, we can bring jobs back to America’s shores, increase wages, and support U.S. manufacturing.

It's about Love, not Hate

Common Ground Church's present home

Commissioner Andy Amoroso doesn't like the fact that Common Ground Church is located in our downtown on S. J Street. Actually, I guess he doesn't like churches that much. As he is an admitted atheist, he must relate more to atheists Preston Smith and Chaz Stevens even though he walked out of the city chambers when Preston Smith was going to give his invocation. He thinks the downtown should be for bars and nightclubs and boozers, not someone preaching to those in recovery or to those who are turning their lives around to be productive citizens. This entire congregation is all about love and hope.

Common Ground has had their coffee bar on J street for a number of years. Last year it got the opportunity to lease the Bamboo Room directly across the street from their coffee bar where church services originally were held. Now Pastor Mike's flock is growing.

Poutine Dog Cafe is closing and recently the Beer Depot located in the same building as The Bamboo Room closed down. Common Ground took over leasing that space which will be for artists and entrepreneurs.The space will be opened in February with a stage, reading center and a coffee bar. Pastor Mike says, “We want to help entrepreneurs and artists develop their gift. We want to help the city become everything it’s meant to be.”

Last Sunday Common Ground Church had a visiting pastor, Jeffrey Singletary, regional catalyst in the Central Florida Region for Florida Baptists who gave Common Ground Church a $20,000 donation towards buying its new facility in Lake Worth. Pastor Singletary was in awe of Pastor Mike starting a church in a [coffee] bar, developing a following and now re-locating God's message to a club. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured in a boat in Watertown and sentenced to death for his many crimes, one of which was murdering an MIT policeman. He was a naturalized American citizen born in Kyrgyzstan who self-radicalized, at least in part, by watching Anwar al-Awlaki lectures. al-Awlaki also had duel citizenship, Yemen and the United States. Tsarnaev's appeal was denied. His brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev whose U.S. citizenship request was pending at the time did us all a favor by being killed in a hail of police gunfire.

Get rid of these Illegals

This is an incident that happens too frequently.  Once is more than enough but our lack of law enforcement on the books as well as Sanctuary Cities have been encouraging and breeding the problem. Every week we read about some illegal attacking or murdering a United States Citizen.

"A man who shot an Arizona state trooper and smashed the officer’s head into the pavement last week – until a God-fearing, gun-toting stranger came to the trooper’s rescue and shot the attacker dead – was a drug-abusing illegal alien and former member of the Mexican federal police, according to authorities.

There are 952,691 illegal fugitives in our country. Since 2008, we have spent over $21 billion to incarcerate  them. The cost to the American taxpayer is horrendous in life and treasury.

Maybe in the next 100 days we will get some action on Kate's Law, E-Verify and other laws that protect us from criminal illegal aliens. Let's build that wall!

Why is this news?

Not only once was it written about in The Palm Beach Post (January 14) but also yesterday. This should be a paid advertisement by the Herman Robinson campaign. "Herman Robinson, a long-time community organizer, is scheduled to host a fundraiser on Jan. 25 at Paradiso Ristorante on Lucerne Avenue..."

The Post is a liberal newspaper always favoring Democratic candidates. If Jeffrey Dahmer could rise from the dead and was a Democrat running for election they would probably endorse him. Favoring one candidate over another in our non-partisan election--not cool. They should keep their bias or stupidity on their opinion page. Maybe they will lose more subscribers.
