Amoroso Friends' Endorsements

Comment Up

Commissioner Andy Amoroso put out an 8 page tabloid where he said:  Understanding our assets is key to planning a better future for this city that tries our patience but never loses its charm. City Commissioner Andy Amoroso counts our blessings." Now isn't he the guy who said he was "just about an atheist" when this trio voted to eliminate invocations as we have known them. The last time he was in charge, he had a moment of silent prayer. So much for all those blessings.

He also brags on his achievements and personal endorsements. There were three of which he was most proud:

Jessica Teutsch
Mrs. Teutsch doesn't live in the City of Lake Worth but her children go to school here. She gave Amoroso a contribution of $25.00 in the name of Jessica Angeli. Occasionally, you can see her with her BFF hanging around Starbucks or Amoroso's store or taking pokes at opponents on Facebook.  She is the one who turned in a code complaint, trying to use that department as a weapon to go after our commissioner, Ryan Maier.  Read about this outrageous action by Jessica Teutsch and even Scott Maxwell's comments at a city commission meeting regarding this trumped up incident.

Marty Welfeld
Well written endorsement.  Andy should be grateful.  He and his wife have been supporters of Amroso for years as well as the entire Trio. You can spot them as well near Andy's store on Lake Avenue. He and his wife gave $2,000 to each of the trio for this election cycle or a total of $6,000. He has been involved in contributions for Amoroso, Maxwell and Triolo and in causes that they back such as wanting to tax every taxpayer in the city for 34 years for a General Obligation Bond; supporting this trio's decision to not honor the vote of the people on the Heights Amendment and bringing a national league baseball stadium to John Prince Park, 100 yards away from where I live. They are affiliated with the Cottages of Lake Worth where you can take a tour. In the past, they charged $30 in advance and $35 at the door.

The Group of Five Women: Nelly Buff, Karla Engle, Faith Watson, Natalie Ellis, Jessica Teutsch  (we already talked about her above) and Rachael Tanner.
They say, "We are members of our Neighborhood Associations; we sit on volunteer boards."
There are two out of the five who sit on a politically appointed volunteer city board:  Karla Engle and Faith Watson, both serving on the Recreational Board. They are endorsing the trio for safety concerns for their kids. They already influenced the Trio to criminalize the homeless (bothering their children so they say) and got them off of our city public spaces. They should be more concerned about their children entering a Lake Avenue downtown store that sells "adult" entertainment products.

Andy sent out a newspaper? I didn't get one.

Did he put an ad in it for his porno store?? He must be really desperate if he has to print a paper with nothing but lies. I didn't get this paper. Was it distributed to just his supporters? The money people. I am sure he didn't send it out to the uneducated voters of Lake Worth.(their term). Only people with money have any brains. (their feelings as previously stated on this blog)

Not the endorsements that a normal person would want.

I got that thing Andy put out (I think ).Was it printed on something like a newspaper? I didn't know what it was! I ended up throwing it away. I thought it had something to do with downtown events ! Now I'm very glad it went in the trash.

I know Marty and Theresa and Neily Buff, all good people who live in my neighborhood. While I have not agree with Marty and Theresa on past issues I often agree with them on others. Good people can agree to disagree (thankfully). Neily is a young mom (I have a small child as well) and she and I agree on the homeless issue (although I'm not sure we needed a new ordinance and PBSO could have simply enforced the laws already on the books and or dedicated more patrols to the issue). I have actually not been impressed with the trio's response to growing crime issues.

I, myself, have voted for Andy in the past. I have not voted yet, but don't think I will be voting for Andy this time around. Andy is not a bad guy and I agree with him on some city issues but I don't like the fact that these three are running as a block. I think elected officials should be independent even if they agree on certain issues. Running as a group is strange to me and makes me less likely to vote for any of them since I don't know who out of the trio is pulling the strings.

@ 10:16 " I think elected officials should be independent even if they agree on certain issues."

So does Ethics - this is from the ethics proclamation
read (but not understood) by the mayor on 3.1.16!

Item 5B -
"ethics is a set of values that consistently guides our behavior and, as applied to government, it is essential to the proper conduct and operation of the government that public officials be independent and impartial so that their actions can easily be seen to encompass ethical behaviors consistent with established standards of conduct as they provide important governmental services; and

Neily said at a meeting our votes should be ignored when saying the gulfstream should be allowed to build higher than the vote of the people.

Wonder how she'll feel when her parenting rights (like voting rights) are ignored and she's told others will decide what is and isn't good for her kid. By her own standards she'll have to take it because her rights are subject to the whim of the reps and not the peoples voting rights.

Lynn, where did the "Group of Five Women" say they were all on boards?

that was not the quote, anonymous @12:44. The quote is as stated and it appeared in Andy's 8 page tabloid.

Attacking a bunch of moms now? This blog has sunk to a new low. Didn't think that was possible. Bullying is alive and well here. Come out in favor of those you oppose, and you will be attacked. This is the threat that comes from this blog.

What was written is the truth. Have you ever heard of that?
No bullying on this blog.

I had the other group of three campain literature on my door. Guess they're running as a pack also.

Why didn't Andy advertise his "cocoa cocks" and other paraphernalia he has for sale in the backroom behind the hanging curtain in his store?

To Anon at 2:54
Nope they campaigned separately. They may have hit your neighborhood at different times but at no time have these three campaigned as a group or printed flyers as a group or stood together for photo opportunities. So therefore blow this accusation out you ass.

Why are you shopping for "cocoa cocks"?

Andy is despicable, he is dishonest, corrupt, greedy, and needs to send his bags packing, what a shame for someone born and grew up in this city to do to his fellow citizens here, how dishonest. I will not vote for him or ever shop in his shop. Absolutely horrible and despicable for our city. What a disgrace. Does he have a soul?

Andy seems to draw out passionate feeling from both sides. He must be doing SOMETHING right.
