1 cent Sales Tax Increase and Baseball

Comment Up

Today's Editorial in favor of the 7% sales tax increase

But I am in tune with this Letter to the Editor:

Letters to the Editor
Palm Beach Post

Here is my succinct response to the proposed sales tax increase.
Roadways, bridges, schools and county buildings — I vote yes. If anything else is in the mix, I vote no.

DENNIS E. CICOTTE
JUPITER

............
In fact, I go one step further--if Palm Beach County can spend multi millions more catering to and rolling over for another national league ball club to develop here at the expense of its residents and destruction of a county park, then I vote NO to it all.

The Houston and Astros price just raised to $144 million and they have said that it could go even higher. The Braves price tag is $110 million. This is all for the County's ego of wanting to be known as the Spring Training Capital of the Country.  I would suppose that is better than being known as Corruption County.

this entire baseball fiasco reeks of corruption. if it's not that, than it's sheer stupidity.

It sure is corrupt! You should have seen the wink wink kissy kissy going on at the county meeting between Bat Boy Maxwell and the County Commissioners! Lets see= Mark Foley lobbies for the Braves.Scott Maxwell working behind the scenes to destroy JPP for a baseball stadium for Foley's team.Foley does big fundraiser for BatBoy to get reelected. Bat Boy Maxwell, Triolo, and Amaoroso get invitations to Shelley Vanas fund raiser, Shelley Vana Maxwell and our city manager Bornstein slurp down steak with the braves execs- the incest just goes on and on and on,,,,

If Tralala, Imaloser and Maxwealth really cared about Lake Worth they would put the stadium in Bryant Park. New Hotel, golf, beach and baseball. Our merchants would be rolling in dough! A home run for everybody ! Plus I live west of I-95. I don't give a crap what happens to the people living east of Dixie and I don't want to pay taxes to take care of a dirty run down place like Bryant Park. It is filled with homeless people and used drug needles are everywhere.I'm too scared to even go there !The Braves stadium would fix the Bryant Park area up.The house prices in the area would go up to!
