Blame it on the beer - Incident at Brogues

Comment Up
Will the real A-Hole stand up?

Brogues restaurant is a very popular spot in Lake Worth's downtown known for its loud crowd and loud music.  People go there for fun and good food as well as surrounding themselves with friendly people. And through the years there have been political rallies there as well as debates.  The Democratic Club used to hold their meetings there and neighborhood associations have taken advantage of their large backroom for meetings. Residents throughout the city have always been invited to all NA meetings even if they are not members.

Brogues has a lot of action with a lot of diverse personalities. A Texas woman was just arrested there after kicking a deputy.  She was slurring her words and would not leave the bar even though it was closing time.

But the other night at Brogues, a neighborhood association president of Downtown Jewel did not slur his words when he called a citizen and former member of the Planning & Zoning board an "A-Hole," not once but several times in front of a table of his friends consisting of a mother, grandmother and two small children 2 and 6 years of age for passing out literature on the general obligation bond before the meeting. This "A-Hole" was a guest of these people who were dining there.

The NA president who had no reservations about using vulgar language in front of children some of whom might eventually pay for this general obligation bond should it miraculously pass and a person in the YES crowd, demanded that this resident leave the restaurant because he didn't like his message and obviously felt threatened.

Now I ask you, who is the real A-hole?

Very disturbing. Are we not allowed to have different points of view ? I guess the A-hole was channeling Germany, circa 1939. When he had no argument to stand on,and not enough brains to discuss the issue, the only thing this guy could do was start screaming insults.
