Diane Jacques is back and ready to campaign

Comment Up

Diane Jacques, candidate for Mayor Lake Worth, has now recuperated from an unexpected illness and is ready to meet the residents. Unfortunately she teaches on Monday nights at Palm Beach State College so she is unable to attend any neighborhood forums on Monday nights. But you all got to meet her at the NAPC Forum at the Lake Worth Playhouse.  Now you will meet her again when she knocks on your door.

Read about her priority when it comes to spending money on the Park of Commerce versus our streets. Within the next month you will be learning a lot about Diane and her platform to make Lake Worth great again. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach Diane at 561-767-1246.

That's great that she is back! I really thought she had the strongest presentation at the Lake Worth Playhouse. She has good energy and good ideas and it would be so refreshing to have a mayor and City Council that is there to represent residents and will not squander our most precious asset, our beach.

Her schedule at PBSC says her classes are taught on Thursday nights. What's the story?

I believe that you have the syllabus wrong...try a different number and program in winter...just my guess, anonymous!!

I just got an email from her today and she is having a kick off party this Saturday, Feb. 13. Details to follow. So glad she is better and back in the race.

Term/Dates: 1/6/16 to 5/6/16 Lynn, Can you post where she is working on Monday nights?

Lynn Anderson said...

I'm sorry--can you call her and find out? The ID for this course might have changed.

How in the world is she going to be able to be mayor and miss so many neighborhood meetings? Especially these important debates where we get to find out what she has to say, live and in person. Don't most the neighborhood associations meet on Mondays?

Her facebook page has said since december that she is a FORMER instructor at PBSC. How is she going to free herself up to run a city with a lot of challenges - that is the important question.

Just off the phone with PBSC this class was originally to be on Thursday nights but was changed to Monday nights - ms Jacques the prof didn't finish her assignment and never corrected her syllabus which is currently posted in their website.

@1:44--you really should ask Ms. Jacques but I know for a fact that course hours change and days change in semesters. That's just the way it is.

I wonder what her position is saying she is a staff writer for the Broward Sheriff’s office. Is she on their payroll? Or has she done some freelance or contract writing for them in the past. That’s the problem voters have at election time. There’s no way a candidate can visit every voter at home to be able to ask these kind of questions. That’s why opportunities like neighborhood associations candidates forums give people the chance to ask and listen to them in-person. I also know that an elected representative in Lake Worth can be thought of as a part-time job, the reality is, it’s a full time position. Those that serve in any capacity be it elected office, serve on a city board or neighborhood association make a sacrifice to the community they agreed to serve. Running for elected office is like going on a job interview. If you really want the job you’ll do whatever you can and put your best foot forward to win that job. Ryan and Gary are examples of this. They made sacrifices. They restyled their hair and shaved, knowing first impression are extremely important. By not showing up for these public forums is like not showing up for a job interview. Obviously her current job is more important to her and her family than the making a sacrifice for the desired new job she’s trying to get.

She is under contracts and believes in honoring commitments.
Next, she will be at the forum tomorrow night. Ask her when you see her.

Anony at 4:17 you sound like you are a know it all. Just what we need here. Another attack dog drumming up bull sh*& attempting to bring someone down. Get a job. It's really too bad that these meetings were held on a night she works. To call the college and try to cause her harm is pretty lame.

Character assassination seems to be the order of the day. Is it because Ms. Jacques speaks the truth? Is this the reason certain people who won't reveal their identity have scurried around hoping to unearth something by which to discredit her? Please, whoever you are, come out into the open and make your accusations.

Anyone who lives in Lake Worth knows the problems we face daily...broken sidewalks, pot holes that cause the motorist to do drive like a skier in a downhill slalom to avoid tearing out the undercarriage of their car? Panhandlers at every corner? These are the issues that our current administration seems blind to. Perhaps they are too intent on their "pie in the sky" dreams of high rises and industrial parks.

On her resume, posted on this very blog, she lists BSO as a former employer, so what in the world are you talking about? Get your facts straight and have the guts to sling your mud in the open!

Ya know Lynn, all that head shaking you did at the debate tonight really has me wondering, are ya seeing cross-eyed with having to cover for some of these challenger candidates. Diane's a no show, giving conflicting messaging from her own Facebook account posting on December saying she was no longer at the PBSC... Now, despite the schools own posting as of today, she appears to be teaching on Thursday evening , despite it being moved to Monday nights, and all the confusion because she failed to update her syllabus. She's still a no show, I'm hearing crickets chirping, see my vacant stare...

And her co-challenger Gary oh my god what rock did the dark side find him under? So disconnected and talking gibberish about bring back LW police. Really, where the hell is gonna find the funds to make that happen? He didn't provide an answer just babbling, Gary seems like a nice old grandpa, his time has passed, sorry dude. Poor choice of candidates you've backed Joann Golden and Cara Jennings.

I saw on your blog spot that Vernon Heights neighborhood is inviting all candidates to speak… And then in big red letters it says DATE CHANGED to February 20 at 7:30 PM.

I haven't heard anything about this date… So I was wondering when did they first announced it?

Also Feb 26th the Genesis neighborhood is having another opportunity to meet the commishs

Lynn Anderson said...

I actually heard about it yesterday...went to their Facebook page and called the number. I then heard this morning that they changed the date so I verified it again on their Facebook page. That's all I know. I would imagine that there was a conflict with the city commission workshop of tonight and someone had influence and got it changed.

Lynn Anderson said...

Just re-checked it again and it now says 2-9 and the phone number listed goes into voice mail.

Let's get just a few facts here amid this fabricated mudslinging masquerading as truth about Diane. She was admitted to JFK recently with a dangerously low oxygen level from a very virulent respiratory infection with complications,. Obviously during this time she could neither teach or campaign. After discharge she was still homebound and under nursing care. This can happen to any one of us and does not signify deficient character or commitment. To pretend otherwise is really reaching for straws. She has a different vision for Lake Worth and is committed to listening to the voters over developers. She has good ideas and takes this election very seriously. She does teach on Mondays and does not think it ethical or honest to be a no show to a previous commitment. To both the school and her students. She tried to change the day away from Monday but not all her students were able to juggle this change of schedule, hense she still is responsible to teach on Monday. There is no published statement or requirement to run in this city that you must be available on Mondays. Our meetings take place on Tuesdays. Lately the dark side has taken to calling the school demanding proof and putting her job in jeopardy. A teaching position usually does not entail anonymous character assassination. To then imply that she is a. lying, or b. not committed is really reaching low to find some traction to discredit anyone opposing the gang of 3. Just as ridiculous as Scott's new version of the ITN process in which "anyone could attend."

Anonymous said...

I did not realize there was a cone of silence last night that included no head shaking or refusing to believe the once again very creative reconfigurations of recent history, including that all of Lake Worth was invited to the ITN process. Supposedly now all of us could have attended?? The mistruths are getting downright ludicrous. Maybe I should ask if there is now a "Cone of Silence" mandated on truth?

Anonymous at 4:17, she has worked for PBSO; not presently. Presently she is teaching which includes a class on Monday nights to which she was already committed. Attempts to change the course to another night were unsuccessful. I would point out as well that all three incumbents also hold other positions many of which are full time. Are you holding Diane to a different standard than the others? I don't believe that Scott, Pam, or Andy have stopped working at their other positions, have they? Yes, a campaign is like a job interview with the voters but it is my understanding that has never meant either implicitly or explicitly cancelling all other commitments, including family and profession. Some positions lend themselves more readily to flexibility of schedule. Teaching a class is not one of those. I worked for 40 years in nursing and it would never occur to me to not show up for work, even if I was very concerned and committed to a political cause. It's simply not professional or ethical.

Wow, someone saw Ma Jacques last night at 7:43pm. NOT TEACHING. Ryan Hartman I was told was a no show for South Palm Park stating he had the flu, miraculous recovery. Pxs of him downtown this morning. What gives? Are you supporting 2 blatant liars???

Anonymous said...

What we know within 100^ of certainty is that Maxwell, Amoroso and Triolo are liars. You are probably one too.

Anonymous said...

It is great to see so many of you all coming to the defense of Diane Jacques. I don't think anyone outright called her a liar for not showing up at the forum. Only that her excuse was she taught on Monday nights. Palm Beach State College information apparently is wrong and states she teaches on Thursdays. Diane has not attempted to clarify or state how that occurs. All we hear is that she tried to change the day from Monday, but the college, on their website, says it is already on Thursday.

I'm sure it's just a misprint.

Without any proof, I think we need to award 5 Pinnochios to anonymous at 11:43. And next I expect to see Steve Michael being canonized as St. Michael, archangel of all developers and savior of the former town of Lake Worth, now renamed Hudsontown on the waterfront.

So anon at 11:34 where exactly was Diane Jacques spotted last night? Maybe she was on a drug run to the local Walgrens or CVS

Ah yes, it seems the powers that be are now deep into the very activity they so very often label any opposition with: innuendo. Assassination by intimation. Just like the unsuccessful attempt to invalidate the bond vote. Don'cha remember? Someone in line heard someone else say they had a hard time trying to vote?? And so therefore we should get other cities together and sue Susan Bucher for election fraud? Validated by hearsay by appointed speakers by the POWERS THAT BE. So yeah, I certainly find it believable that Diane and Ryan were lying so lets follow this to the illogical conclusion: they both were out together making plans to shoot cops and make up stories about where they were, and just trying to play a huge trick on Lake Worth. Ho, ho, ho. Almost as bad as the trick the trio tried to pull off in transferring a beach to their buddy HH. Yes, there must be a sinister plan afoot. How dare they--
