Crime, it's all over Lake Worth and growing like a weed

VANDALISM--14080908--2200 BLOCK LAKE OSBORNE DR--Palm Beach County Sheriff--6/2/2014 6:19:00 PM

Last night I called the PBSO because someone(s) from the trailer park on 6th Avenue South (you know the one--it has a lot of criminals/low-lives hanging/living out there and an occasional shooting) cut a hole in our chain link fence large enough for a person to walk through without even ducking. The sheriff came--took one-half hour to finally arrive, which proves that our area is a low priority. The deputy said that they were very busy taking care of the downtown! There is a current wave of crime going on and criminals are very brazen, literally using a ladder to the 2nd floor of some condos in a different community, entering while the owner is asleep.

A week ago, 4 short guys tried to enter an apartment here after the occupants had turned out their lights. The owner called the sheriff immediately when it happened and the guys ran off towards the trailer park. She was told they (the sheriff) would be there in the morning to take the report as they were busy.

The neighborhoods are not a priority. We are paying for one expensive clean up crew. Oh,yeah-they come with badges.

CRIME IS NOW INTO THE NEIGHBORHOODS THAT USED TO BE VIRTUALLY CRIMELESS. WHERE IS PBSO?

I agree, I had to call the PBSO a few weeks ago when someone near my house was beat and robbed and it took the PBSO 10-15 minutes to get there, I was surprised it took so long. The PBSO told us last night at our meeting though that crime was down and it was quiet here, then the Guat civilian officer Gaspar said that Lake Worth has way too much crime. Seeing all this posted here, I see too much crime in this city, the PBSO never want to admit the reality, they hide out over by the golf course or Sacred Heart parking lot never in the hood or bad areas until they are called to clean up a crime. The admin in this city never want to admit the truth about crime. Prevention, what is that?

I don't know if its growing or not, but it does seem to be pervasive and PBSO seems to do little. Yes, PBSO will show up when you call, but they won't arrest people. Just today we had a B&E by a homeless person on a snowbird's backyard shed/garage. No arrest, simply sent him on his way, in my direction. Gee, I feel safe, thanks.

Then I complain that PBSO will not arrest and I'm told they can't unless you have an official PBSO do not trespass sign (which isn't in any burglary statute I've read).

So, how do these kinds of crimes, where there is a crime but no arrest fit into our crime stats. Are they captured, doubt it. As such I think crime is actually much higher than reported b/c the three recent times I'm aware of crimes being committed and PBSO responded there was no arrest, two prostitution incidents and now this B&E. The criminals were simply sent on their way, no arrest.

Sounds like these guys in the Sheriffs office don't give a crap about Lake Worth.Or the stupid little whiners and complainers in it. Just get by till their shift is over, keep the paper work to a minimum. The homeless piece of crap will be released faster than it takes to process him, right? Why bother. How many days till my pension kicks in ???
