After the Storm

Comment Up

And what a storm it was! One-half of the transformers blew that provides the current for buildings 4 and 5. It is affecting one-half of their electricity:  refrigerator, air-conditioning and even television. Lightening was so loud, I thought it had struck my building and I literally jumped off the couch. We were told that lightning was not the cause.

A transformer on top of a utility pole as seen in the photo below transforms the approximate 7,200 volts or so into 220-240 volts. This is then sent into the home over wires. The wires go through the electric meter, which measures how much electricity you use. One of the three wires is the ground, and the other two are the positives. After Lake Worth Utilities gets here, it will take approximately three hours to change it out.
