At the Lake worth Playhouse, Falsettos--October 2-18

Falsettos is a prominently LGBTQ+ musical

It is a poignant, humorous, and heartbreaking musical about an unconventional tight-knit modern family navigating love, identity, and loss in late-1970s and early-1980s New York City.

I'll be there on Sunday.

ICE on the Job

ICE Arrests Illegal Immigrant Working for Democratic Congressional Campaign in Pennsylvania

ICE arrested an illegal immigrant from Nigeria following a disturbing public exposure incident in Pennsylvania, with federal officials linking the man to a Democratic congressional campaign

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released the following statement after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested an illegal alien from Nigeria who, while working as a canvasser for a congressional campaign, was arrested for exposing himself in public in Pennsylvania.

On September 27, Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe, an illegal alien from Nigeria, was arrested in East Pennsboro Township for indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. He pleaded guilty to the disorderly conduct charge.

The arrest has sparked a dispute between the Department of Homeland Security and Democrat Janelle Stelson’s campaign, which denies ever employing the man or having any connection to him.

DHS said local reporting identified Igbojekwe as a canvasser for Janelle Stelson, the Democratic nominee in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s new antisemitism strategy doubles funding for a community grant program whose partners include an anti-Israel organization previously led by Linda Sarsour, while omitting Zionism and declining to adopt a definition of antisemitism.

During the program’s announcement, Mamdani’s wife attended a luxury retreat hosted by a group that called for the abolition of Israel.

Ninth Circuit Court Rules for Trump

Ninth Circuit Blocks Reinstatement of Court-Appointed Seattle US Attorney Fired by President Trump

Here’s a question no serious constitutional scholar should ever have to entertain: Does the President of the United States get to decide who serves in his own executive branch?

For more than two centuries, the answer was so obvious nobody bothered to debate it. The President nominates U.S. Attorneys, the Senate confirms them, and they serve at the pleasure of the chief executive. That bedrock arrangement survived every political storm this country has weathered – right up until a single federal judge in Washington state decided he knew better.

An Obama-appointed district judge recently ordered the Trump administration to reinstate a Democrat-connected attorney the President had already fired. Not just reinstate him – restore his back pay, hand him the keys to the office, and grant him full authority over federal prosecutions in Western Washington.

The judge then refused to pause his own ruling while the government appealed, essentially daring the administration to do something about it. Somebody did.

From The Post Millennial:
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Sunday temporarily blocked a federal judge’s order that would have reinstated a Seattle US attorney fired by President Donald Trump.

The appeals court granted the Trump administration an administrative stay in the case involving Roger Rogoff, who was appointed US Attorney for the Western District of Washington by federal judges in July.

The Ninth Circuit – not exactly a courthouse conservatives circle on their calendars with hope – stepped in and froze the lower court’s order. Credit where it’s due. But a temporary freeze is just that: temporary. The appeals court needs to go further and make this block permanent.

"Hail Satan!"

'Dear dark father': Watch Midwest town council open meeting with 'Hail Satan' invocation

Man praying calls for a rejection of "arcane doctrines," pursuit of 'luciferian impulses to eat of the tree of knowledge"

The town council in a Midwestern American enclave, Ottumwa, Iowa, has opened its meeting with a petition to "Hail Satan," and the resulting backlash triggered the council to shut down comments to its posted video.

The invocation included addressing "Dear dark father" as well as a rejection of "arcane doctrines." It seeks to pursue 'luciferian impulses to eat of the tree of knowledge."

Politics has shifted in this town; • The political landscape shifted significantly starting in 2016. Donald Trump won Ottumwa and Wapello County in 2016, 2020, and extended his margin in 2024 (carrying the county by over 13 points).

Ossoff's Republican opponent had death threats

New York man arrested for death threats against Georgia Rep. Mike Collins

A New York man was arrested after threatening to kill Georgia Rep. Mike Collins and his son-in-law, as Collins tied the danger to his Democratic rival’s campaign rhetoric.

The FBI said Monday that agents arrested a New York man for threatening to kill U.S. Rep. Mike Collins and the congressman’s son-in-law. Officials did not release the man’s name or the formal charges.

USA TODAY reported that Butts County Sheriff’s deputies traveled to New York at the end of last week to help federal investigators identify the person behind the threats. Collins lives in Butts County, Georgia, and is running for U.S. Senate against incumbent Democrat Jon Ossoff.

FBI Buffalo Special Agent-in-Charge Allen D. Davis II stressed that distance offers no shield for people who threaten violence.
"When you mix false accusations with inflammatory rhetoric, it fuels the lunatics who want to settle political disagreements with violence."
Collins called on Ossoff to apologize, retract what he called false attacks, and campaign on issues facing Georgians.

Skydance

Far-left cable network that treats Trump like criminal now under new ownership

Paramount completes acquisition of Warner Bros., including Discovery, CNN, CBS, HBO

It's called Skydance now. And it's the combined company that was created when Paramount completed its acquisition of Warner Bros., including Discovery, CNN, CBS and HBO.

According to the Gateway Pundit, "The far-left cable network that spent years treating President Trump like a criminal defendant just woke up under new corporate ownership. … And the left-wing fake news industrial complex is completely losing its mind."

David Ellison, the Skydance founder who already bought Paramount, is chairman and CEO. Ynon Kreiz, the former Mattel chief, is co-CEO.

Project Meridian

Musk to help lead Pentagon team studying the future of war

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk will co-lead a new Pentagon initiative called “Project Meridian,” a 120-day study that will examine the future of warfare and recommend weapons and capabilities the military should develop.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made the announcement during his “State of the Force” address to junior officers and enlisted leaders on Sept. 30 at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.

The project will be co-directed by Musk, Anduril co-founder Palmer Luckey and veteran political leader and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. A supporting team of “elite academic, policy, and industry experts” will help identify advanced systems and ways to accelerate their development and fielding to strengthen deterrence, according to a Pentagon statement.

The primary focus is assessing how breakthrough technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), advanced robotics, autonomous systems, directed energy, and biotechnology will transform future battlefields.

Musk’s SpaceX builds rockets and provides satellite and launch services, including for the U.S. government. Anduril develops autonomous weapons and military technology. Both hold multibillion-dollar defense contracts with the U.S. government.

The announcement comes a little less than three months after the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, was disbanded. Musk, the world’s richest man, helped lead the organization, which was formed in 2025 with the aim of cutting government waste and modernizing federal technology.

Florida conservatives should read this alert with their calendars open.

RAIR Foundation USA reports that Linda Sarsour campaigned for Democrat Socialist Angie Nixon and urged supporters to donate and make calls, placing the effort within a broader alliance of socialist activists and Muslim political organizers. The immediate political issue is organized support for a candidate seeking federal power.

Nixon’s own campaign promotes Medicare for All and federal rent stabilization. RAIR’s warning is that motivated activists can turn a movement into an electoral victory. Republicans who assume Florida will take care of itself should remember that winning requires ballots, volunteers, and sustained work. [Luthmann]

Talarico endorsed by questionable progressive group

Talarico says he's 'honored' by endorsement from group that freed man later accused in six killings

Democratic U.S. Senate nominee James Talarico said he was "honored" to receive an endorsement from a progressive group that once bailed out a man later accused of killing six people.

Fox News Digital reported that Talarico welcomed the Texas Organizing Project’s backing of his Senate campaign and praised the group’s long work in Black and Latino communities.

Texas Organizing Project (TOP) posted bail for an individual, Shane James, who was later accused of a mass killing spree in late 2023. Authorities later accused James of a string of attacks in San Antonio and Austin that left six people dead, including his parents.

That record now sits beside a Texas Democrat who is asking voters to send him to Washington while his campaign insists he backs tough bail rules.

Marsha Blackburn's lawsuit against Jack Smith

Entire Middle Tennessee Federal Bench Recuses From Marsha Blackburn’s Lawsuit Against Jack Smith

Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s civil rights lawsuit against former Special Counsel Jack Smith has taken an unusual turn. Every sitting district judge in the Middle District of Tennessee has recused from the case, leaving the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to bring in a judge from outside the district.

Chief Judge William L. Campbell, Jr. signed a one-page order on October 5, 2026, in Blackburn v. Smith. The court did not provide a reason for the mass recusal. The order stated:
“All District Judges of the Middle District of Tennessee have recused in this matter. As such, a District Judge from outside the District will be designated by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. When the designation is made, the case will be reassigned.”
The immediate result is clear: the case will remain with the clerk until the Sixth Circuit selects a district judge from somewhere else in the circuit. No judge from the Middle District of Tennessee will handle the matter at this stage.

The report also says that when Smith’s team went to a federal judge in Washington, D.C., to obtain the nondisclosure order, the team reportedly concealed that the subpoena targeted a Republican member of Congress.

Those allegations are central to Blackburn’s claim that federal power was used against her while the investigation was hidden from public view.

Chuck Lorre Smeared/Trashed Melania

Melania Trump Got the Last Laugh After the Big Bang Theory Creator Called Her a Yugoslavian Escort

The last person who called Melania Trump an escort paid her nearly $3 million. Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre apparently missed that memo.

But Melania Trump just got the last laugh after Chuck Lorre called her a Yugoslavian escort. At a charity event in Los Angeles last week, Lorre stepped to the microphone and went full Hollywood unhinged.

Standing at the Project Angel Food Angel Awards – an event meant to honor people who feed the sick and dying – Lorre decided the moment called for something different. He told the crowd he turns on CNN every morning to check and see if Trump has had a heart attack.

Then he called Melania a "surgically enhanced, cold-hearted Yugoslavian escort who clearly hates her husband." The crowd cheered. Lorre even paused to acknowledge it: "Okay, I do have the right audience."

Jihadist killer to get the firing squad

Trump approves firing squad execution for convicted jihadist who killed U.S. troops

Claimed he was inspired to murder Americans by the 'leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan'

President Donald Trump has approved Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's recommendation that a convicted jihadist who killed U.S. troops be executed by military firing squad.

The case involves convicted Fort Hood mass killer Nidal Hasan, 56, who slaughtered 13 people and injured another 32 at an Army base in Killeen, Texas, at a time when he was an Army major.

He would be the first person executed after a U.S. armed forces court-martial since 1961, when John Bennett, an Army private, has executed in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, for raping and trying to kill a girl in Austria.

The execution became possible last year after the Supreme Court rejected a petition by Hasan to hear an appeal of his conviction.

Hegseth said, earlier, "This savage terrorist deserves the harshest lawful punishment for his 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood. The victims and survivors deserve justice without delays."

A commentary at the Gateway Pundit noted, "Remember when Barack Obama said the murder of 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009 by Islamic terrorist Nidal Hasan was merely 'workplace violence'?

Well, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth recommended the jihadist killer be executed by the US Army firing squad – and President Trump approved."
