While patriots like Josh Williams are ready to fight, the Mike DeWine administration is content to point to flimsy “anti-fraud measures” that they implicitly admit are broken. They see a raging fire and respond by drafting a memo about the historical prevalence of arson.
This weak-kneed response is an insult to every Ohioan. It signals that the governor’s mansion is occupied by an administrator, not a leader. In an era where conservatives are demanding fighters who will defend their values and their wallets, Governor DeWine has shown he is merely a caretaker of a corrupt system.
And here’s the truly infuriating part. This isn’t some brand-new scheme nobody saw coming. We’ve already seen this horror movie. It played out right next door in Minnesota, which was rocked by one of the largest COVID-era fraud schemes in the nation. Hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars were stolen through fake meal programs, much of it orchestrated within the state’s large Somali community.
The warning signs for Ohio could not be clearer. As the Breitbart report notes, “Columbus is the second largest home to Somalis in the country after Minneapolis, Minnesota.” This is not an attack on a community; it is a recognition of a pattern.
A massive, brazen fraud was perpetrated by members of a specific community in one state, and now an identical situation is brewing in another state with a large population from that same community.
