Court Victory for Critics: On January 22, 2026, a judge ordered the state to turn over public records related to the facility within 21 days following a lawsuit by the Friends of the Everglades.Continued Legal Battles: A major appellate hearing to decide if the facility must be shut down for environmental reviews is scheduled for April 2026.
Christopher McVoy, Ph. D., is an Everglades science expert, member of the board of Friends of the Everglades and part of this lawsuit. He is an elected commissioner in the City of Lake Worth Beach.
