Sunset 11-23-25

President Trump could’ve crushed Mamdani, made him grovel for federal funding, turned the whole thing into a humiliation ritual. Instead, Trump chose statesmanship. When’s the last time you saw a politician actually laugh at being called names instead of launching a week-long victim tour on cable news?

Sure, the cynics (and trust me, I’m usually one of them) might say this was all political theater, but the genuine warmth in that room tells a different story. It didn't seem like an act.

When Trump joked that he’d actually consider moving back to New York City under Mamdani’s leadership—”especially after this meeting”—you could hear the surprise in his own voice at finding unexpected kinship with an ideological opposite.

In an era when politicians won’t even share an elevator, Trump reminded us that grace costs nothing but yields everything. The lion doesn’t need to roar when everyone already knows he’s king of the jungle. Sometimes, extending a paw in friendship shows more strength than any display of fangs ever could.

And maybe, just maybe, that’s the kind of strength America needs to see more of right now. [IStandForFreedom]

Good Night, Patriots!
