Governor Abbott Designates Muslim Groups as Terrorists, Bans Land Purchases
We’ve all watched as foreign entities quietly purchased vast swaths of our homeland, from farmland near military bases to commercial properties in our cities.While politicians in Washington debate, dither, and delay (their specialty, really), radical organizations with verified ties to terrorism have operated freely on American soil, even acquiring property to advance their declared mission of transforming our nation. The threat isn’t theoretical—federal investigators have already exposed connections between some of these groups and international terrorist networks.
But while the federal government continues its bureaucratic waltz, one governor decided that protecting his state couldn’t wait for Washington’s permission. Sometimes leadership means actually leading.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Tuesday designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations, blocking the groups from buying land in the state.
