Wisconsin Dem Senate candidate wants term limits for Supreme Court
Mandela Barnes, the Democrats running to beat Senator Ron Johnson, wants term limits for Supreme Court Justices. Of course, Democrats have no proven policy to run on so they bring up abortion and throw in SCOTUS term limits.Much of the American Constitution endures its original form, after more than two centuries, taking effect in 1789. That is a testament to the wisdom of the founding generation that put it together. And in the words of James Madison after creating our form of government, "no model on the face of the Earth."
Sitting here with the Constitution in front of me, the opening words of the Constitution’s Article III, describing the judiciary that the original document created at the national level, reads this way: “The judicial power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behavior…”
The phrase “good behavior” obviously implies that there is no limit on how long a Justice may serve, once approved for serving on the court.
Democrats continue to make our Constitution political.
