Poor Nicholas Torgerson--This guy just makes bad personal choices and bad business decisions. Not only did he buy his 2,472 sq. foot townhouse in September 2008 for $560,000 located at 219 N 'L' Street that is now worth $103,000, but the State of Florida just moved to shut down his Whitestone Capital Trust for alleged mortgage deed fraud and corruption. Torgerson fits right in with other scam artists who have a connection to Lake Worth...think Greater Bay. At least with this guy he didn't get wealthy from our Lake Worth City Commission.

Who was on the planning board when that project went up? Wes? spinelli?
Poster 12:51 PM. Who was on a board when someone bought a property for market value several years ago that is valued for less money today is one of the most ridiculous things I have read on this blog. Do you also wonder who might have been on the P&Z board when Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald? Crazy.
You mean there was a lone shooter?
The reality here is that past boards and past commissions have made some downright lousy and costly decisions up to the present ones we have. Our utility is still the black hole and our most costly asset other than employees. Who do we hold accountable for the mess? Who do we hold accountable for getting us into bad contracts? Do we blame the people who turned some of those bad contracts around that ended up costing us some money but less than if we had stayed in them? Do we blame Maxwell for getting us into FMPA? The list goes on and on.
The moment the market crashed, Joan Oliva, employee of the Lake Worth CRA,placed in the wrong district,
blocked Real Estate agents with upscale clients, from contributing to the City's tax base,by selling them at higher prices,
She bought up 6 key ones,,
on the sneak,
for $90,000 to $110.000 and placed low income elements to reduce the City of Lake Worth's Tax base.Joan Oliva's pestilent low income vomit from hell, ripped out the appliances, bathroom fixtures, vanities, A.C. Air handlers and Compressors and disappeared. There are witnesses. Suddenly ads in the Lake Worth Herald appeared:top quality stainless steel, refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers,A.C.s for $250,- originally $3000,- etc.
She still practices this method of preventing Lake Worth Tax base from increasing .
Tax base increase has been prevented by uncaring, self serving spineless, corrupt, Commissions by keeping the CRA in our Downtown most lucrative area, allowing it to spend General Fund needed revenue on suspect projects with out of town contractors, and building more low income housing to permanently cripple the City's Tax base.
It's Mission mandates that they be in Lake Worth's most blighted neighborhood, south of 6th Avenue South West of Dixie.
