Sally Welsh-Chapela
Was hired in 1988 as a lifeguard at the Lake Worth pool.
She is back teaching water exercises with ideas
of other programs.
The Friends of the Lake Worth Pool met last night at Southshores Tavern and Patio Bar. When trying to find them on Facebook yesterday, I missed their page. Apparently there is/was another group with the same name. The meeting was well attended by all those who love the Lake Worth pool with a common goal--to encourage people to use it and to see it opened 7 days a week, year round. Keiran O'Shay, someone for whom I have never met, was voted in as president at their August 1 meeting. Mary Lindsey is Secretary and Marshall Pass is Treasurer. Some of the others I knew who attended were Karri Casper, Susan Ona, Tammy Panza, Anna Maria Windisch-Hunt, Barbara Jean Weber, Leonard Bryant, and Katie McGiveron.

Commissioner Scott Maxwell,
Judge at the Zombie Rampage Crawl
It was reported that after expenses, the organization made $3,041.81 for the recent Zombie Rampage Pub Crawl held in downtown Lake Worth on August 9. This, as well as future raised funds, will be used to support water safety and swim programs.
Very happy to see Sally back. My Mom used to go to the Lake Worth beach and pool every day of her healthy life and Sally remembers her as one of her diehard participants.
On September 21st, it was announced that South Palm Park neighborhood association will be hosting a swim challenge at our pool between neighborhood associations. Friends of the Lake Worth Pool will be there too.
