Didn't that property belong to a Mr. Smith, who was a city manager? His son then owned it,Ray Smith. This is in the 1950`s and 1960`s.po

Something about this property is on tonight's agenda-- blog will be out very soon.

Yes, this property was owned by Tom G. Smith. He had a nursery and Tom G. Smith Funeral Home. All this property out here on Lake Osborne was owned by him. He sold the land where I live to Ken Murry in the mid-'60's and later sold the Murry Hills property as well and had them both annexed into the City of Lake Worth. He was at one time a mayor of LW as well as city manager. His son, Ray, also worked for the City for a short time after he retired from the Navy I think it was. He was known as the city engineer and sometimes as the assistant city manager. He sold the property to two land speculators and did the same thing his father had done--had these last 4 acres annexed into the city.

It has been a problem ever since.

Ray Smith sold this to the investors for $1.5 mil. They have lost their ass and want the city to pay them off for their bad scheme to get rich.
