Glen J. Torcivia, Lake Worth City Attorney

Comment Up
Two nice guys: personable and approachable
City Manager, Michael Bornstein and City Attorney, Glen Torcivia
both with tremendously huge responsibilities

With his own law firm since 1989, City Attorney, Glen Torcivia had a commission "review" on Tuesday night. He has been acting as our interim city attorney for over one year. Actually the review was done informally and all five commissioners are pleased with Mr. Torcivia and his law firm's performance. Also they are happy to have engaged an entire law firm with various expertise and save money all at the same time.

Commissioner Szerdi said:  "accessible, clear, good repoire and a good economic decision.
Commissioner Amoroso:  "happy with him and his team...phenomenal job."
Vice Mayor Maxwell:  "surprised he is so responsive...refreshing to know that when we have a problem, he gives an opinion quickly."
Commissioner McVoy:  "happy with Glen and the benefit of multi-attorneys as well as their experience with other attorneys."
Mayor Triolo:  "surprised that Torcivia and the firm is so available.  The level of expertise has helped us contain our costs."

They voted on a 5/0 to make the Law Office of Glen J. Torcivia and Associates, P.A as our permanent city attorney.

This is the commission that fired our long time city attorney employee Elaine Humphreys giving no reason as well as firing the former city manage after saying they would give her a chance. Do you really expect to hear a criticism or anything about improving in any area or elaborating on how much they love him after his opinion on the March election. They stayed with generalities which told the public nothing.

Excellent decision, glad the Commission continues to make smart decisions and is hiring competent professionals. And a 5-0 vote nonetheless, that rarely happens. Keep up the good work!

5/0 votes happen nearly 99.9% of the time.

As a resident, I don't find them accessible at all. they never acknowledge e-mail. they have made it clear that they only answer to the commission. more than likely this is a city directive as the hourly cost mounts up. before the city attnys always answered.

He's saving the city thousands of dollars is doing a great job by all accounts and still you mutts complain.

The next time you use the name calling, you are off of here.

It's all about transparency. As neither one of these guys ever give a report, and the city commission has no clue, what can you expect, an e-mail reply? You have to be kidding.

Sure, it looks like they're saving money and staying in budget if you don't count all of the subcontracts for all the addition legal staff (Torcivia's firm; not the city itself). Tell me how Torcivia's firm is providing 5-6 attorneys and staying within their budget when their original contract only called for 1 1/2 - 2. Go back and watch the video of the public interviews if you don't remember. One good thing: CC didn't evaluate him on his "sexiness" as they felt the need to do with Bornsteins.

How did he save the city money. He told the commission to give that scam artist, williard, $1 or 2 mil.
