Nazi propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels "would be very proud of the Democratic Party because they have an incredible propaganda machine."
~ Rep. Allen West
Now, I find this a brilliant statement and so true. And since Allen West quotes are so popular these days, you get another one.
Democrats just can't take the heat but they sure can dish it out. They get annoyed when someone points out the truth. They totally lose it and get madder than hell. Just look what they did in this last election (and Democrats do it better than any other Party)--Swift-boated West at every opportunity with lies but West conducted his campaign wining on the facts.
Democrat Rep. Donna Edwards from Maryland tried to get a vote in the Congress to condemn Allen West for his statement. It went along Party lines although 3 Republicans voted with the Democrats. It was tabled on a vote of 231/188.

Could Mr. West have used the likes of Chinas' propaganda as a comparison instead of churning up the ill feelings of the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime. Not that China is much better but there are still families in Mr West district who were and are still affected by that regime. Chosing your words with wisdom and thoughtfulness shows the qualities of a good leader. If the truth hurts, think about the people who were hurt by the awful Nazi truth.
Don't you think that people are making a big deal out of this when it happens to be a truth regarding propaganda? What better comparison is there?
West is just another big hypocrite, raping the people and receiving a lot of big benefits while a politician in the US government. Will he force change here and stop all the waste? Will he enact laws to stop waste, reform elections, enact term limits for them all and decrease the benefits of the politicians?
Will he change this?:
WAGES
Salary of retired US Presidents .............$450,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of House/Senate members ..........$174,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of Speaker of the House .............$223,500 FOR LIFE
Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders .....$193,400 FOR LIFE
Average salary of a soldier DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN - $38,000
Average income for seniors on SOCIAL SECURITY - $12,000
Will he enact Congressional Reform Act of 2011?:
Congressional Reform Act of 2011
1. Term Limits. 12 years only, one of the possible options below..
A. Two Six-year Senate terms
B. Six Two-year House terms
C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms
2. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no paywhen they are out of office.
3. Congress (past , present and future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.
4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Maybe it is time..
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months and 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc..
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.
I'm asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around, Does West support this? Would he?
A more topical comparison would have been to compare the Democratic Party to the Kardashians. You know screw ups that use the media to make them look normal.
Of course Westie knows that by invoking the term Nazi he would be sure to get his name in the news again. When was the last time his name was in the news for doing something good, instead of saying something stupid?
I love Allen West. thank God there is someone out there who can compromise and also can tell the truth. That is rare today in politics.
When did Allen West ever compromise?
He just compromised on Obama's Budget. He also voted to reduce defense by 318 billion over 10 years. I suppose I could look up some sfuff but why don't you instead of being a smart guy?
I bet the Nazis would have approved of Allen West's interrogation techniques.
He was not a "known terrorist", Even Allen West admits that is a possibility.
West said "At the time I had to base my decision on the intelligence I received. It's possible that I was wrong about Mr. Hamoodi."
Also West did not simply "fire a shot over his head". He had soldiers hold Hamoodi's head in a barrel and fired his pistol into it.
For a man like that to compare anybody or any organization to the Nazis is pretty funny.
"Known terrorist" Lynn? Where'd you get that idea? West's victim was an Iraqi policeman (a Shiite, in a situation where almost all attacks on US troops were by Sunni) and the guy was never found to have done anything wrong or had any unsavory connections.
Wikipedia:While serving in Taji, Iraq, West received information from an intelligence specialist about a reported plot to ambush him and his men.[6] The alleged plot reportedly involved Yahya Jhodri Hamoodi, a civilian Iraqi police officer...West then fired his pistol near Hamoodi's head,[6] after which Hamoodi provided West with names and information, which Hamoodi later described as "meaningless information induced by fear and pain."[6] At least one of these suspects was arrested as a result, but no plans for attacks or weapons were found.[6] West said "At the time I had to base my decision on the intelligence I received. It's possible that I was wrong about Mr. Hamoodi"
Now, Steve, were we or were we not in a WAR? Can you admit that over 6,000 of our soldiers were killed there?
Do you believe that soldiers must go with intelligence that they receive? If not, why not?
Are you a pacifist, Steve? Are you voting for Ron Paul?
Is this your way of making a retraction, Lynn? Or do you still claim Hamoodi was a "known terrorist"?
But to answer your questions:
We were at war-stupidly and illegally. Over 4,000--not 6,000--US troops died there.
Soldiers should leave intelligence-gathering to intelligence specialists, not hot-headed, trigger-happy, paranoid line officers untrained in intelligence.
I'm not a pacifist. I would never vote for Ron Paul. He's a crackpot, among other things.
Well, I take exception to your description of Allen West. I think we would have to be there and see our troops dying every day and all of the atrocities of war in general. We would need to be in the other guys shoes. We don't win wars anymore. We go in and spend billions of dollars to lose. Why is that?
At least you are not a Ron Paul fan.
Many folks want to portray West as a hero that would do anything to protect his troops.
But many also believe that he simply "lost it". West wrote this after the indecent, “In my anger, I couldn't remember how many shots were fired.”
A highly trained officer like West should not have done that.
Apparently the Army agreed and started proceedings to Court Marshall him, and he choose "early retirement" and kept his benefits.
Plenty of others have served in the military, saw what West saw, walked in his shoes--and refrained from committing war crimes.
