Now with Governor Rick Scott gung ho on E-Verify, these numbers should drop even further once it becomes law.
William Snyder, R Stuart said: “Jobs are our No. 1 priority, and we must ensure the protection of jobs for Floridians who are legally eligible to work in our state, especially during this time when Florida is struggling with high unemployment numbers,” said Snyder. “I applaud Governor Scott for taking a step he believes is necessary to achieve our overall goal – reducing illegal immigration.”
City Manager, Susan Stanton, took a necessary step on January 1 this year when she took back our Shuffleboard Court from The Mentoring Center that attracted only immigrants. The Seniors and those who played shuffleboard were literally treated like second class citizens. The facility was there to primarily help undocumented workers find jobs and it was said, learn English. Instead those who visited our building trashed it as well as the courts after the City spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to ready the building for The Mentoring Center's occupancy.

Pew Report:
We continue to notice the drop in numbers of people hanging out on Lake and Lucerne. Once Rick Scott can get E-Verify passed, we might then be able to reclaim our city streets as well as reduce slum and blight in the western communities.
