Voted Down but Developer gets a re-vote

This is how bad politicians are--we have been talking about this forever it seems and that is why we need Amendment 4. This is why the process is corrupt when you have politicians deciding on land use changes and cater to developers' every whim and not the voters. When does a vote count?

At first, commissioners voted down a controversial amendment in Bradenton to a comprehensive land-use plan that would have increased the number of homes to be built in Hawthorn Park, a Neal Communities development in northwest Bradenton.

However, developer Pat Neal asked that a re-vote be held Monday because commissioner Ron Getman was absent. The request was granted and Getman will be present Monday by phone.

Police were all over the place, guarding his vehicle
even a patrol car parked close by with a canine dog that barked ferociously.
I asked the Mayor to turn for a photo but he refused.

Politics does breed "strange bedfellows" and Florida Hometown Democracy demonstrated against Mayor Levy for his anti-stance and official Co-Chair of the Anti Amendment 4 group. The Environmental Coalition group demonstrated against Levy because of Scripps and PB Gardens Council wanting to raise the heights in PB Gardens to 95 feet.

Police were out in full force. The FHD Group stayed at the entrance of City Hall while the Environmental Group meandered to the other side of the building on Military Trail. The police were watching our every movement. As one elderly woman who walked by said, "a little over-reaction on their part doncha think" as she pointed to the car with that attack dog.

I heard that Obama plans on suing the State of Arizona. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, announced this in Ecuador about 10 days ago. The Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer, said, "“If our own government intends to sue our State to prevent illegal immigration enforcement, the least it can do is inform us before it informs the citizens of another nation."

WTF?

All Arizona is doing is enforcing federal law and that's what President Obama should be doing.

Demonstration tonight - David Levy

There will be a demonstration in front of the Palm Beach Gardens City Hall starting at 5:30 this evening.

The purpose of this demonstration is three-fold:

• Mayor Levy's support of Comprehensive Plan changes to accommodate Scripps and unnecessary development
  

• His resistance in allowing the people of Palm Beach Gardens to petition against 3 year terms

• Being a spokesman and Co-Chair of Palm Beach County for the Anti Amendment 4 developer groups. Are you being paid for this job, Mayor?
  

We can't even get Mayor Levy's Treasury Reports to verify where he got his campaign donations.

As one blogger states, "As many as 10 states, including Utah, Georgia, Colorado, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Nebraska are considering adopting Arizona's Immigration law or something similar."

Subversives know how to organize and protest. They have become experts at strategy, misspeak and with the illegal immigration issue, twisting it all around to "racism." There is a (very) small minority of illegal alien protesters getting virtually all of the publicity. Thank you left-winged media. According to Rasmussen polls, more than 70% of the country support what Arizona did. Someone at City Hall dissed polls the other night. They just don't care about truth or the law or what the people want. They were elected to a strange mix of people here in Lake Worth some of whom believe that everyone's life is equal and therefore they all should deserve the same entitlements whether they are a citizen or a criminal and want all of us to pay and pay and pay while they stick their tongues out.

Left wing radical protesters and a HUGE number of UNEMPLOYED ILLEGAL ALIENS make it appear that there is little or no support for the law - but the people who DO support the law have responsibilities and are too busy going to work, making a living and supporting their families as well as SUPPORTING ILLEGAL aliens.

Within just one week of Arizona Law, 10 States have shown interest in adopting it. How many more will join in over the next few months? Once it is declared Constitutional, I would imagine many will consider a similar law particularly those States most affected.

Last night the Lake Worth Democratic Club had its meeting with Pete Brandenburg and Jeff Clemens speaking. Jeff was good, as usual, and always knows how to say the right things. One in attendance jumped up at the end and stated, "I didn't like some of the stuff that Mary did (Pete's wife) and Jeff I have never liked you. Who do I vote for; who is the Republican candidate?" she asked. It's tough to consider voting for any Democrat these days. As good as some may be, they stick to a Party line that is no longer acceptable and in some cases, radical and just plain out of touch.

Dave Aronberg's (candidate for FL attorney general) aide spoke and brought up that Arizona wants to put an end to Anchor Babies. He was appalled. Arizona will most likely introduce new legislation this fall that will deny birth certificates to children born in Arizona to illegal immigrants, defying the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment that says being born on U.S. soil automatically makes you a U.S. citizen. It's against the law to come to this country and marry an American just to obtain automatic citizenship. What is the difference? You break the law; you don't get the privileges.

The Amendment was made over 100 years ago. Russell Pearce, Arizona House of Representatives, says that today the 14th Amendment has been taken over by illegal immigrants. “They use it as a wedge,” Pearce told Time.com. “This is an orchestrated effort by them to come here and have children to gain access to the great welfare state we’ve created. We will write it right.”

until the vote?

No one seems to remember exactly what he said other than he didn't want to get into the debate--he would probably vote "yes" on the Resolution--passed the gavel to the Vice Mayor, asked to be called back for the vote and left the dais.

We believe that the Mayor said that he was frustrated by the distraction (meaning the Resolution before the Commission) to the City's important business and decided not to be a party to it.

This certainly makes sense to me other than his vote.

25 Floridians charged with narcotics trafficking

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Twenty-five Florida residents were charged in a 54-count indictment with narcotics trafficking in connection with their participation in a conspiracy to possess and distribute multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine. The charges are part of a national operation and coordinated takedown, known as Project Deliverance. The South Florida investigation, which commenced in August 2009, is known locally as Operation Mexican Minute and was a joint investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, and the Highlands County Sheriff's Office.

The South Florida indictment charges the following defendants:

• Joseli Davila, 36, of Boynton Beach;
• Placido Martinez-Resendiz, 23, of West Palm Beach;
• Edgar Orosco, 24, of Lake Placid;

"Project Deliverance identified and dismantled a group of Mexican drug traffickers distributing multi-kilograms of cocaine per month. Trouville.

City Boards

Personally, I believe that there are way too many City Boards. During public commentary, Ryan Anderson spoke for the Neighborhood Association President's Council and informed the Commission that it was the decision of their Council to dissolve the Community Relations Board. The CRB has not been effectual and has not made any progress in our community. It was formed because of Commissioner Jennings belief that immigrants needed protection from our police, a bogus reason.

Last night I was listening on-line when the subject came up and it seems that the Commission did not take the advice of the NAPC. According to Ryan Anderson:

I left the commission chambers at 10pm and continued listening at home. Around 11:15pm, the Commission started discussing a last minute agenda item, 11c - Discussion regarding ordinances that created various volunteer boards. Commissioner Jennings made a motion to remove the two NAPC seats from the CRB. The District Two Commissioner followed up by saying something to the effect of -- If the NAPC does not think the CRB is relevant, they should not have two seats on it. The Commission voted in favor of this motion unanimously and made the CRB a seven person board.

This is nothing more than a punitive action by the Commissioner. It is about the Commission and just more of the same--not listening to the residents but pushing forth a social justice concept that has not worked.
