Two people shot in Lake Worth
Comment Up
As we continue to pay exorbitant amounts of money to be safe in our city, two people were shot while driving in their vehicle in the 700 block of S. C Street last night.

CITY TO CHURCH: GO AWAY!
It is happening in a foreign country but as you are driving to Sunday services this morning, think about this--
The church owns it land. It has all the necessary permits to operate, and it has even been given the go ahead by the Supreme Court. But when radical Muslims don't want Christians to have the right to worship, property rights and law don't matter ... Read more... on WND.com

Democracy Pelosi Style
According to Examiner.com, Democratic leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi proudly
headlined the high-dollar, but secret, campaign fundraiser last May
that was attended by Islamist groups and individuals linked by the U.S.
government to the Hamas jihad group and to the Egypt-based Muslim
Brotherhood movement to bring down Allen West and a few other Republicans running in Tuesday's election.

Tit for Tat but Allen West tells the truth
The rich kid, whose family is probably one of Obama's dreadful 1 percenters, and whose father is part of the PAC that ran an attack ad against West boxing an old woman, now is looking to sue Allen West for this latest campaign ad. Read more... at Post on Politics.
Commissioner McVoy meeting the voters
Comment Up
Since August, Commissioner McVoy has been knocking on doors and talking to the voters about Lake Worth in general and asking them about their concerns.
This campaign has been low key as far as inundating mail boxes with campaign literature. The Commissioner did not want to burden anyone in this economy with campaign contributions for his re-election. He understands the many hardships of those who live in Lake Worth, from the Retirees to those working and supporting a family, and how tough the economy has been.
Signs have been erected in various locations. His goal has been personal interactions with the residents.

McVoy over Stafford for Lake Worth seat
I often agree with The Palm Beach Post Editorial Board but was stunned that the paper endorsed Jim Stafford over the thoughtful, intelligent incumbent Christopher McVoy for the District 2 Lake Worth City Commission seat.
The editorial started by appearing to give credit to Mr. Stafford for completing the beach casino project. This makes no sense, because it is through the hard work of recent and current commissioners, including Commissioner McVoy, that the project has been completed.
I don’t believe that Mr. Stafford’s status as a father of four small children gives him an especially unique perspective for understanding how the city’s high electric rates affect families on a limited budget. Most people I know — married, single, with children or not — are similarly budget-limited.
But I offer another perspective: As the owner of a 1922 cottage with 22 windows, I know that being conservative with the thermostat makes a big difference in my power bill. While the paper is probably right that conservation alone won’t be enough to reduce businesses’ power costs, the importance of conservation should not be underestimated or ignored.
The editorial stated that Commissioner McVoy “… brings an analytical approach to problem-solving …” This is the main reason Lake Worth needs to retain him. The months ahead are very important for understanding the complicated electric issues. Voting for Christopher McVoy will help to ensure that the city makes a responsible decision.

Jim Stafford gets campaign contribution from Southern Waste Systems
Comment Up
Jim Stafford's latest Treasury Report shows a campaign contribution from Southern Waste Systems.
Haven't all of us in Lake Worth had about enough of this company? Not Jim Stafford.
Although one of the smallest contributions from that company in Lake Worth politics--if you want to know something about a candidate, follow the money.

General election turnout
Drove out to the supervisor of elections office to see if I could vote early...no parking spaces anywhere. Since early voting began last Saturday, there have been massive crowds. Waiting for 2.5 hours just to enter the voting booth is the norm.
The main office has 10 computer check-in stations and 25 booths.
One surprising bit of trivia--not one McVoy or Stafford sign was spotted.
Bishop Jackson's Message to the Democratic Party
First we had Reverend Wright. Now we have Bishop Jackson.
Who can you trust when it comes to Democrats?
The Dems will probably call him "racist" too. Afterall,
he is condemning the entire Party.

UPDATE: These thoughts by Suzanne Mulvehill on the victim and the Media just received by Penny Darling, Anti-Stalking Victim Advocate who just spoke at Lake Worth City Hall on October 3 for domestic violence Awareness:
Written by Commissioner Suzanne Mulvehill to the news publication:
I was shocked and saddened to learn that just a few blocks from my home, in my district, a woman was found in a black garbage bag. I read today the title of the article upon finding out who she was, Lake Worth murder victim was stripper who struggled with addiction. That title made it seem like - ok - that makes sense - stripper got killed. That happens.
In my opinion, the title gave a sense of validating this "type" of murder. As if this is what can happen to strippers - and those with addiction. The truth is, it can happen to anyone - but when the media gives a sense of validating murder it is almost read as "acceptable."
I read further in the article that she was a student at the Florida Culinary Institute. I believe the article would have had a completely different tone if it stated, "Murder victim student at Florida Culinary Institute" and showed a picture of her at school or with her family and in the article stating that she was a stripper and struggled with addiction. Plus, she was 20 years old - a young girl just trying to get her life together.
I would like to suggest that in the future, incidents like this - particularly that depict women - who are often the ones found dead in black trash bags - that their best is depicted - not their worst. They already experienced the worst. They were murdered and are dead. I hope you understand.

Subject: Valet Issues
Good Afternoon,
We are still having a
major issue with valet parking for our guests. We have many elderly guests and
guests with children that need to valet park instead of climbing through dirt
piles to go eat. Valet have been parking in the empty lot at bottom of hill which
has been working very well. They have been able to serve all customers quickly,
there are no safety issues and everything has been smooth. Now we are told we
can't use that parking lot. What are we to do? The city is making it impossible
for us to do business if we don't get these issues resolved. I sent an email
over a week ago and have not had any resolutions or responses with any ideas as
of yet.
We would really
appreciate some effort and considerations to do what is best for the business
and vision of the casino project.
Please let us know why
the parking lot we have been using is an issue and why can't we use this for
the time being to better serve our guests.
Please let us know what
we can do about this situation. Thank you,
--

Illegal alien criminal and Jim Stafford
Comment Up
An Illegal Immigrant said he had no idea that there were fifteen ASSAULT weapons in his car.
Read more... about this criminal who has been charged with being an illegal alien in possession of firearms, which carries a maximum 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
When referring to me on May 22, 2009, Jim Stafford said, "For example, her views on immigration are scary! As a Cuban-American I find them to be very anti-Hispanic. It’s one thing to want our government to follow its own laws and another to make such swiping and hate filled remarks."
I have always written against illegal immigration (those who cross our borders uninvited, never learn our language and never have any intent on becoming an American--who are expensive burdens on the taxpayer and who are only here to take advantage of the overly generous American system. It is not about those who have gone through the legal process to become an American citizen or who have obtained Green Cards, Immigration visas or are Naturalized Citizens. Approximately 3.5 percent of our population are illegals. Nationally, 47 percent of illegals use welfare; 39 percent use food assistance and 35 percent use Medicaid.
This is just another important issue where Stafford jumped to a conclusion without getting the facts. Do we want someone like that sitting on the dais? I have family from Cuba and my brother's wife is Hispanic and is a naturalized citizen. Almost all of us who live here are products of those who immigrated to this great country whether they are Hispanic or European or from some other part of this planet.
So this AK-47 illegal committed an assault on our country and Stafford committed verbal assault on others in Lake Worth in order to gain status as superior to the person targeted and to bond with others against the target--something he did a lot of in 2008 and 2009. All who had a different political view were fair game and that was half the city.
