Since August, Commissioner McVoy has been knocking on doors and talking to the voters about Lake Worth in general and asking them about their concerns.
This campaign has been low key as far as inundating mail boxes with campaign literature. The Commissioner did not want to burden anyone in this economy with campaign contributions for his re-election. He understands the many hardships of those who live in Lake Worth, from the Retirees to those working and supporting a family, and how tough the economy has been.
Signs have been erected in various locations. His goal has been personal interactions with the residents.

It concerns me that a sitting commissioner needs to ask voters about their concerns. Wouldn't you think he would know by now?
I looked at the city posted campaign records and saw that after putting out mailers on Oct 29 and another the next day, mcVoy has about $6,000 cash on hald. can we expect a number of paid solicitators or newspaper & Tv blitzes this weekend and Mon-Tues?
It concerns you, huh?
Everyone has different priorities regarding what directly would add value to their quality of life. Some people actually have NO complaints. Basically he has found most people very happy. Most people have not complained about their elec bill either.
So, I am concerned that you are so concerned. McVoy doesn't go around inventing resident's problems.
What now? You are concerned because McVoy is asking each resident what his concerns are?
Every person on the dais needs to ask each resident that same question.
The Mayor and Commissioners Maxwell and Amoroso seem to only listen to the same 10-12 people who just like to repeat each other.
This is a city of many many different concerns and McVoy is making a great effort to hear them from as many people as he can.
Has McVoy initiated a motion to address any problems during his term?
I have heard McVoy make a motion on a staff recommendation, but I don't remember him initiating anything. If McVoy hadn't sat on the Commission, I can't think of anything that would be different.
Why have him up there?
Hi Mr. Stafford--
Well, let's hear about all the problem solving by Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso. We pay the PBSO over $1 mil a month to help us keep down the crime problem. We have code enforcement to solve slum and blight. We have a CM who is supposed to address the problems. The commission sets policy. Let's hope you know what you're supposed to do up there on the dais.
"It concerns me that a sitting commissioner needs to ask voters about their concerns".
It concerns ME when sitting Commissioners don't think that they HAVE TO ASK voters about their concerns! I am sick to death of Commissioners who think that they were elected to do what THEY want to do ,not What the voters need them to do!Katie Mcgiveron
Who doesn't know that everybody wants lower utility charges and less crime & blight?
The blankety, blank, who wants to be given a Commission seat, with lies for free Health Care , tries to tell Lake Worth Citizens about Utility Bill reduction ,he personally will carry out!Does he tell how many KW we produce and for how much.We need only how many?No outside purchasing unless, only about few KWs?
When you see him, throw him a box with one dozen doughnuts, tell him:
Sell crazy somewhere else.
Lake Worth is all stocked up here!
