Bush had a republican congress for 6 of his 8 years. When Obama took office the economy was in the worst recession in 80 years. The economy has improved a lot since then with out any help from the majority republican congress whether right wingers want to admit it or not. Facts always trump you.

To my recollection, the 6 years you speak of, the economy was doing quite well. The last couple of Dem control were pretty bad.
