Doctors Can Prescribe Ivermectin for Covid: FDA Lawyer
Doctors are free to prescribe ivermectin to treat COVID-19, a lawyer representing the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said this week.“FDA explicitly recognizes that doctors do have the authority to prescribe ivermectin to treat COVID,” Ashley Cheung Honold, a Department of Justice lawyer representing the FDA, said during oral arguments on Aug. 8 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
The government is defending the FDA’s repeated exhortations to people to not take ivermectin for COVID-19, including a post that said “Stop it.”
The FDA on Aug. 21, 2021, wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.” The post, which linked to an FDA page that says people shouldn’t use ivermectin to prevent or treat COVID-19, went viral.Read about it...

The FDA hasn't "lost." The appellate judges haven't ruled on the case yet.
As you even state in your post, doctors can prescribe ivermectin for COVID. The FDA acknowledges that. The issue is whether the FDA has the authority to issue warnings to the public if they see that people are getting sick because they're taking too much of it, which was what was happening.
The plaintiffs are claiming that the FDA overstepped its authority by issuing the warnings that it did.
It ended up in the Appelate Court and the FDA finally admitted that doctors could prescribe ivermectin

The FDA has not authorized or approved ivermectin for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19 in people or animals. Ivermectin has not been shown to be safe or effective for these indications.
Too little ,too late. Thousands of lives could have been saved. The willing ignorance to keep insisting that Ivermectin is "a horse drug" is disgusting. Ivermectin that HUMANS have used safely for the past 90 or so years to help treat such diseases as Lupus is not the same. The Democrats had us all in masks, the equivalent of the shackles of 300 years ago. And NOTHING, NOTHING was going to get in their way of the absolute power they had over America's men ,women and Children. The FDA was all in. SO EVIL.
Lynn, it's not approved. They don't believe that the drug is effective against COVID. It doesn't mean that a doctor can't prescribe it if he/she wants to.
There are plenty of remedies and treatments that the FDA doesn't approve that are still used to treat patients.
Why is this so difficult for you to understand?
And, again, the FDA hasn't "lost" in court. The court has not issued a ruling on the matter.
