Lantana will go mayor-less until March elections after Robert Hagerty's surprise resignation

He beat long-time may Dave Stewart and now he has taken another job

Robert Hagerty had drawn criticism for the number of town council meetings he missed as he divided his time between his mayoral dues and his new job. Apparently, he was working at this new job at the same time he was supposed to be running the Town of Lantana.

Robert Hagerty announced he is stepping down from office halfway through his three-year term in order to move to Orlando for a job in the construction business. Hagerty's departure was effective as of Sept. 21.
