The Reality TV Mentality

Comment Up

Where the candidates stand after the debate according to latest poll at NBC:
  • Donald Trump, 23 percent (up 1 point)
  • Ted Cruz, 13 percent (up 7 points)
  • Ben Carson, 11 percent (up 3 points)
  • Carly Fiorina, 8 percent (up 6 points)
  • Marco Rubio, 8 percent (no change)
  • Jeb Bush, 7 percent (down 3 points)
  • Scott Walker, 7 percent (down 3 points)
  • Mike Huckabee, 5 percent (up 1 point)
  • Rand Paul, 5 percent (down 1 point)
  • Rick Perry, 2 percent (no change)
  • John Kasich, 2 percent (down 1 point)
  • Lindsey Graham, 1 percent (no change)
  • Bobby Jindal, 1 percent (no change)
  • Chris Christie, 1 percent (down 2 points)
  • George Pataki, 0 percent (no change)
  • Rick Santorum, 0 percent (down 1 point)
This is a surprise to me. I thought that Marco Rubio won the debate even though he didn't seem to have enough air time with Ted Cruz coming in second as shown above. Frankly, I liked most all of them. The first debate was also great. I think Carly Fiorini and Bobby Jindal lead the pack. I would have thought that Donald Trump would be out of it after his coarse performance.

It just goes to show you that the people are into reality television and enjoy the right in your face sarcasm and just plain rude retorts just as the City of Lake Worth allows some resident to scream in the ear of another or chastise citizens and an elected official or file a false code violation. All is fair in love and war, a statement that goes back to 1579 and still applies today. Politics IS war.

I still believe that decorum wins out in the end especially when electing a President of the United States but I also hope that it will be a deciding factor in Lake Worth on March 15, 2016.

It is hard to believe that trump got that many votes on your blog. So, I guess you could be right. People are less than polite these days. Even Megyn Kelly was a witch.

Very disappointed in Fox "debate". It certainly didn't seem "fair and balanced". I'm glad that Ted Cruz is up there. he would get my vote for president.
